Waiting for my Panasonic Lumix ZS1

I’m so excited. If everything will turn out as planned, I will be getting our new digital camera today. The Panasonic Lumix ZS1 (or also known as TZ6).

If you’ve been following my blog, a few weeks back I was contemplating on what camera to get. Because of a convincing rationalization from Troy, I decided on the Panasonic in favor of the Samsung.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1Actually, it’s this article from dpreview.com comparing different compact superzoom cameras of today that sealed the deal for me. And the mere fact that Costco had a $50 off for the ZS1that I asked my dad to buy it from the store for me.

The total amount of the ZS1 including tax reached $259 which is almost the same price had I bought it today. But my dad bought it weeks ago and asked a family friend who was on his way here to bring it along.

And today is the day that I will get my hands on my Lumix. Can’t wait!

Simona Halep’s after-surgery photo

Sadly, a day after I posted about this buxom-blessed, rising tennis star, I just found out that she has already underwent reduction surgery.

Check out her before and after:

halepbeforeandafter

Arrgh! I think her DD’s just became A’s. How can she compete now with the likes of Sharapova or Kournikova in terms of hotness?

Sorry can’t seem to locate any more photos of her new look or details about her surgery. I got the pic from the only source in the internet at the moment which is SportsbyBrooks (site is a bit NSFW by the way).

Simona Halep, the next “big” name in women’s tennis

I don’t consider myself as a tennis fan and I don’t follow tennis that much not unless a female tennis player perks my interest.

I’m not talking about the Williams sisters or Martina Navratilova. I mean they’re great players but not much of a sight to behold. What I mean are names like Martina Hingis, Anna Kournikova or Maria Sharapova. Now I don’t mind watching them play tennis.

Recently, I just heard about a 17-year old Romanian female tennis player named Simona Halep. I don’t know if she has the making of a tennis star but those 34DD’s she’s carrying in her 5’5” frame are sure hard to miss.

Check out some of her photos I collected over the net:

How much could you earn from paid posting?

I know a lot of my blogger friends first start earning money from paid posting or what is also called sponsored posts. Bloggers receive assignments from advertisers to write something about their product, site or whatever. paidpost

Payment usually starts out from $3 to $15 per post which usually requires an average of 200 words. Sounds easy? Not if the assignment is boring or if it doesn’t fit your blog.

However, plenty of people could really earn lots of money from doing paid posts. For a high page-ranked blog, some posts are worth $30 to $50.

So how about me? Not so much success with paid posts. Here’s a breakdown of my meager earnings from different paid posts services.

The new Bayantel DSL commercial is funny

Have you seen the Bayantel DSL commercial with the hi-tech superpoking grandma? I find it funny although a bit short. Check it out.

I know it won’t be as funny for some because they don’t know what “superpoke” (do you?) is or what the “dropkick” signify. But those who do know (like me) will find it rather amusing.

Lola Techie even has a website and you can follow her on Plurk and Twitter. Kudos to Bayantel for coming up with this. Here’s her Youtube channel and here’s her video using Twitter.

Hospital policy for AH1N1 testing sucks

Yesterday, I brought my sister who had a bad case of allergies in the emergency room of San Juan De Dios. I think it is a private hospital for low to mid-income earners living in Pasay City.

At the ER while waiting for my sister’s results, I can’t help but to overhear what the other patients are there for. Flu.

A lot of the people inside the room were wearing surgical masks for fear of contracting or spreading the flu virus.

How much for the AH1N1 test?

In order for a flu patient to be subjected for swabbing to test for AH1N1 virus, a blood count must be conducted first. If the WBC (white blood cell) count is low, it means that the flu is viral and the patient needs to be tested.

That’s what happened to some patients, they were offered to test for the AH1N1 virus but for a fee of a whopping Php5,500. P4,500 is the cheapest and is performed at RITM in Alabang.

I can see it in their eyes as they contemplate on shelling out P5,500 for a test that may be negative or just suck it up and go home hoping that the flu will go away eventually.
