Sky Cable 2008 sucks!
Happy new year everyone!
Morning of Jan. 1, 2008, I found something horrible while channel surfing. Or it’s what I found lacking that makes it horrible. There’s no more Jack TV or Basketball TV on Sky Cable!!!! AArrrghh! No more NBA Games, WWE, Mad TV, Jay Leno (which is kinda ok since they’re only showing reruns nowadays), Comedy Central Presents, Premium Blend, The Man Show and a whole lot of comedy shows!
The whole Solar channels were removed from the channel line up of Sky Cable at the start of this year. Other channels included in the Solar umbrella are Solar Sports, ETC, 2nd Ave. and Crime/Suspense.
The following channels were added:
- MAXXX – sorta replaces Jack TV without the comedy shows and WWE. Although they have WWE 24/7 which airs old footages of WWE. Think way back to Ultimate Warrior, Bam Bam Bigelow, The Rockers, etc.
- Fox Crime – replaces Crime/Suspense. CSI is also shown in this channel so it would be redundant with AXN
- Velvet – replaces 2nd Ave. and ETC without the usual talk shows
- AXN Beyond – In addition to AXN, they also included AXN Beyond
- Balls – a lame replacement for Solar Sports. It doesn’t show NBA games because only bTV can air them.
Well, I heard a rumor that Global Destiny will be including AXN on their channel lineup (which already includes the Discovery channels). When they finally do that, I’ll be saying goodbye to Sky Cable.

I know this is old news. But you may be interested to know who to curse. The Lopezes, the ABS CBN and Sky Channel owners who decided to not renew Solar’s contract because of not being able to get the tv rights for Pacquiao’s fights.
