The Amazing Race Asia 2 – Episode 8

Nothing really special about this leg of the race except that it happened outside Asia. Yup, even the teams are shocked that they’re flying out of Asia. First task is to fly to Frankfurt, Germany then take a train to Prague and Czech Republic.

Of course, Marc and Rovilson are still number 1! Base!!! Adrian and Collin are not far behind though at number 2 followed by the Malaysian Moms. Henry and Terri were the last team to arrive but it’s another non-elimination leg of the race.

What?!?! Back-to-back non-elimination leg? Daichi and Sawaka must be fuming. This time, they keep their money but will incur a 30-minute penalty when they reach the pit stop if they’re not the first to arrive.

Marc & Rovilson are really strong and lucky for still being number one on this leg of the race. Everybody has the chance to start on equal footing since all the plane going to Germany are fully booked. Not only that, the train from Frankfurt to Prague leaves at 11 PM and all the teams except for Henry and Terri arrived in the morning.

At least, they got the chance to explore Frankfurt for a bit. You should see Rovilson pole dancing in a strip club there to acquire some spare cash so they could get something to eat. And a lot of ladies gave him money for that, hehehe. Not that they really need the money, they just really enjoy putting up a show for the Amazing Race fans.

Upon arriving at Prague, they have to find the hidden clues in one of the statues by the bridge. Marc and Rovilson found them first while the other teams are having trouble deciphering the clue written in their task. Unfortunately for the two, the place where the next task is located doesn’t open till late in the morning so Paula & Natasha and Adrain & Collin were able to catch up.

Next is a road block where a team member needs to don a knight armor and find a damsel in distress. Nothing special here, Marc found the damsel first followed closely by Adrian.

Next task is to take a short train trip to Beroun just outside Prague. Adrian & Collin, Paula & Natasha, Anne & Diane were able to catch up with Marc & Rovilson on the train station due to the departure time so there goes their lead again.

Upon arriving, they have to drive a marked car to the town square and find a person with a Nokia phone that has their team picture on it. Lucky for Marc & Rovilson, they have no trouble riding a manual transmission car unlike the girls. They completed the task first still followed closely by Adrian & Collin.

Next task is a detour where they have to hit a target with a crossbow or cut a design on the bottom of a glass cup. Only Paula & Natasha did the glass task while the others tried their luck with the crossbow.

Marc & Rovilson finished first on the crossbow thanks to Adrian having a bit of difficulty with his target. Their lead is not that long however, as the next task is a race to the pit stop. Luck was still on Marc & Rovilson’s side this time as they beat the train crossing while Adrian and Collin were stuck on the other side.

This lead to Marc & Rovilson being number 1 again for the nth time but this time, they each got a prize of $5000 credit from Standard Chartered.

What about Henry and Terri?

I’m tired of talking about Henry and Terri. First I don’t know how they managed to acquire enough money for their plane and train tickets. They just said the other teams gave donation but that’s it and I’m sure that’s not enough. They still continue to bicker and fight among themselves. On the crossbow task, they didn’t have the sense of urgency and it shows that they’re ready to be eliminated from the race. Too bad, it’s another non-elimination leg and we have to bear with Terri verbally abusing Henry for another episode. I’m sure they would still be last next time and eventually be eliminated unless there’s a task wherein the teams have to wait in a train station or an airport for a whole day.

Till next week. Go Marc & Rovilson!!!
