80’s week was again ruled by the guys. I think all the boys ‘cept for one did well on their performances so it’s hard to predict the other one who’s gonna go home tonight. As for the girls, they did kinda ok. Only a few performances stand out last night.

Here’s my prediction on who’s gonna make it to the top 12.

1. Brooke White - Love is a Battlefield
My favorite performance from the girls last night. She’s not that strong vocally compared to the others but she found her niche songs and is comfortable with it. That’s an example of an excellent performance due to an excellent song choice. I think she can also do something different yet cool with songs by Alanis Morissette or Sheryl Crow.

2. David Archuleta - Another Day in Paradise
I actually think he did well with the song. The judges didn’t like it that much because it’s kinda simple for him or they want to see something different. But overall, I think they don’t wanna praise him that much so that he’ll be more risky with his song choices next time. But clearly he’s one of the top guys to watch out for.

3. David Cook - Hello
Wow, a rock version of Lionel Ritchie’s song. My fave performance for the guys. A natural rocker. He really should concentrate and focus on those type of songs. I guess he can be the next Bo Bice or Chris Daughtry. He’s gonna make it far in this competition for offering something different to the viewers.

4. Michael Johns - Don’t you (Forget about me)
Kinda ok performance but he’s still good. Simon was right, he still hasn’t found the song that would really fit him so his performance are kinda disappointing when we expect a lot more from him. But he’s gonna get it soon so let’s just wait and see.

5. Kristy Lee Cook - Faithfully
I’m happy for her for choosing such a good song and making it sound a bit country. It worked and that would be a reason for her to make it to the Final 12. I hope she’ll continue with good performances next time just like Brooke.

6. Carly Smithson - I Drove All Night
Wow, she really could belt. Clearly the most powerful vocals among the girls. I guess we all know that and after three performances it gets kinda boring already. She should sing more for the fans instead for herself to gain support.

7. Jason Castro - Hallelujah
It’s weird watching him perform without a guitar. It looks awkward on him not knowing what to do on stage. Hehehe but the fans would still vote for him.

8. Ramiele Malubay - Against All Odds
I agree with Randy and Simon on this one. I was also looking for that big note that would’ve made her performance perfect but she didn’t do it. I think she’s contemplating on whether to do it or not while singing and that kinda threw her performance off. I still believe that she’ll wow the judges and her fans soon. She’s clearly Paula’s favorite among the girls.

9. Syesha Mercado - Saving All My Love For You
Boring song. Ok performance. She did nothing new with it so it sounded like she’s just doing karaoke. She still has a nice voice and a nice personality though to make it to the final 12.

10. David Hernandez - It’s All Coming Back to Me Now
I like this song way back in high school and he did a really good version of it. He’s continuing to impress the judges and the fans with his strong performances for the past 2 weeks. He’s picking it up and should make it to the Final 12.

11. Danny Noriega - Tainted Love
How I would love to give this last spot to Chikezie but Danny seems to have more fans than him. That’s all this guy has going for him and it’s because of his attitude and the way he brushes off Simon.

12. Asia’h Epperson - I Wanna Dance With Somebody
Fugly performance in my opinion. It looks like she’s a Taebo instructor on stage but she would still make it to the Top 12 based on her previous performances.

Time to go home

1. Luke Menard - Wake Me Up Before You Go-go
Ewww. Just leave. What were you thinking choosing that song?

2. Kady Malloy - Who Wants To Live Forever
I guess she has to go as well for wasting the fans’ votes. Weak performances for three weeks in a row and I had high hopes for her to begin with. She really lost her confidence and is not ready for the Final 12 yet.

3. Amanda Overmyer - I Hate Myself For Loving You
I think her performance was really good but I’m still not sold on her. She sounded the same every week. I think she would make it in place of Asia’h.

4. Chikezie - All The Man That I Need
It’s tough to see him go just because people want to see more of Danny’s antics. If Chikezie’s gonna make it then David Hernandez or even Jason Castro has to go.
