My new backpack from eBags.com
At last I got my new backpack that I bought online last month. I was looking for a backpack to replace the old JanSport that my ex-gf (now my wife) gave me because its lining inside is already scraping off.
I want a backpack that’s simple but durable and comfortable yet looks cool. Luckily, while browsing at a Columbia Sportswear shop at Megamall, I found this backpack.
The Wallowa is a simple yet stylish daypack. There are only two compartments but I don’t want a bag with lots of zippers. The compartment in front is not deep so it’s easy to retrieve stuff that I need quick access to (ballpens, keys, etc.). It’s also water resistant like my old JanSport and has a water bottle holder on the side. The shoulder straps felt comfortable, way better than my old backpack and its color also acts as a reflector.
So what’s the catch?
The price is Php2,690. Ewww… way more that I would pay for a simple backpack. Fortunately, my grandma from the US planned to go here this March so I looked online to see if I could get it cheaper and have it shipped to her place. First site google gave me was BagKing.com and their price is $60.00 (Php2400). Not much savings there and I was almost about to give up and look for another bag.
Then upon searching for other sites, I was brought to eBags.com and their price is… $39.99!! Not only that, they had a sale going on which brought the price down to $29.99 inclusive of sales tax!! But wait, there’s more! They offer free US shipping for purchases worth at least $50.
Since my wife is looking for a small water resistant shoulder bag she could use whenever we travel, we also brought a red Sherpani Milli Satchel from the site ($32.99) then availed of the free shipping.
So the total price of our purchase? $62.98 which roughly translates to Php2,582. Still cheaper than the Columbia bag alone when bought here. We also got two 20% off online coupons next time we buy from eBags which I would definitely do. Cool huh?
