Transport fare increase

UPDATE: The fare hike won’t happen this May 21as DOTC defers the implementation. Read here. Maybe it will happen on Monday instead but stay tuned on the news to be sure. Thanks to Xelynah for this piece of info.

Ouch!! The inevitable has finally come. Starting this Wednesday (5/21), jeep and buses will have a fare increase caused by the almost weekly price increase of fuel. I can’t blame them though. I remembered that jeeps used to have an 8-peso fare but they brought it down to 7.50 after a series of fuel price rollbacks. But that was more than 2 years ago!!!

Anyhow, minimum fare would be:

  • Jeep – from Php7.50 to Php8.00
  • Ordinary Bus – from Php8.00 to Php9.00
  • Air-conditioned bus – from Php10.00 to Php11.50

Why did the jeep get the minimum increase? Or why the heck did they increase the air-conditioned bus fare by 1.50? Good luck na lang sa konduktor na mag-cocompute ng bayad at sukli.

Now the taxis are clamoring for their own flag down increase. Arrrggh!!! Hassle ‘to! I have to edit my travel guides to reflect the fare hike. Hehehe.

hahaha. mahirap talaga if we put fares on our guides but they’re really essential and helpful info.

lagay ka na lang ng disclaimer, fares may change due to the constant fuel increase. hehehe.
