Ces Drilon was kidnapped, why the hush-hush?
Just found out today that well-known ABS-CBN correspondent, Ces Drilon was kidnapped by the Abu Sayaff Group last Saturday (June 7) in Sulu along with two of her TV crew and their guide, Professor Ocavio Dinampo. They were supposed to do an exclusive story about the ASG but were intercepted by an armed group in Kulasi, Maimbung, Sulu.
So why didn’t it made the headlines the past weekend? Was it because the people can’t stop talking about the death of Rudy “Daboy” Fernandez who died on the same day? ABS-CBN explained the news blackout request stating that the they don’t want to speculate on any information that would harm Ces and her companions.
Some are speculating that the reason for the abduction was that the ASG wants the publicity. It’s been quite awhile since they made the news. The last being the death of their leader, Khadaffy Janjalani a long time ago.
Anyway, I don’t want to write what others have already said. Instead, here are some more articles regarding the abduction.
