Beijing Olympics: Men’s Basketball US vs Germany schedule

US Men’s Basketball Team did it again as they dominated Spain 119-82. Although a lot of their guys are in foul trouble thanks to the Gasol brothers, their bench is so deep that it didn’t matter if Kobe and Dwight spent a lot of time sitting.

It was also a good time to make their outside shooting work courtesy of Carmelo Anthony and Tayshaun Prince but one thing consistent about their game was their steals. They forced Spain to turn the ball over a whopping 28 times that they converted into 32 points.

Tea USA

There’s no doubt that they will most likely take the gold this time even though they still have to battle Argentina on the next round. Next match to close the preliminary round is with Dirk Nowtizki’s German team. It is a no bearing match for the US team but they want to head onto the next round 5-0. I wonder what they will say to Chris Kaman who applied for a German citizenship just to play for Germany.

It’s never a boring game if the US team is playing so watch their game against Germany live tonight at 8 PM (Manila time) on bTV.

Ricky Rubio Going back to the US vs Spain, did you get to see Spain’s 17 year old basketball prodigy Ricky Rubio? He was quite impressive against the US considering his age. He played even better than Calderon and Fernandez and with great composure going against Chris Paul and Deron Williams. He turned pro in the Spanish League at age 14. Is there somebody like that here in the PBA?
