KFC’s Shrimp Surfers is a letdown
Yup, Kentucky Fried Chicken is now serving shrimp here in the Philippines. Dubbed as Shrimp Surfers, these are deep-fried shrimps which are covered in tasty, golden brown batter. It comes with a sweet, spicy dip and served with rice. The shrimps are not that big and the 3-piece meal won’t give you the value for your Php70+.
Don't let the picture fool you.
I love shrimps but my wife is allergic to it so I seldom get to eat them at home. I decided to try the KFC’s Shrimp Surfers and bought the 5-piece meal for Php107 because the 3-piece is not that satisfying. Ugghh, seemed like they forgot to pat the shrimps dry because it’s too OILY! ‘Twas a bad experience for me and I won’t bother ordering those shrimps again.
So if you want to eat tasty, crunchy, deep fried bread crumbs for lunch, give the KFC Shrimp Surfer a try. Who knows? You might just get a hint of shrimp inside.

KFC also have a misleading product in their Hot Wings.
The two piece wings is actually one wing divided into two.
While the four piece, is just two wings, sliced into four parts.
Yeah. I also asked them about that coz I noticed that the 4-piece wings meal is cheaper than their 3 wings meal.
My daughter loves shrimps so every time we eat out and there’s shrimp in the menu, she’d order shrimps over any other food. One time we ate at KFC, South Superhiway, she eagerly ordered this shrimp surfer. Her food came really late that we had already finished eating our burger and chicken when it arrived. I was not going to make a big deal out of it however when I saw how tiny the shrimps were as compared to the picture on the counter, I couldn’t contain my disappointment and anger. I brought the food back to the counter and told them I didn’t order those cockroach-size shrimps. I made sure that everyone in that place heard me so they would complain too. I said that they should change the picture as it is misleading or remove shrimp surfer from their menu if they can’t serve what they show on the picture. The manager offered to add 3 more pieces of shrimps but I said ” and let me wait for another 20 mins?” In the end I canceled my daughter’s shrimp surfer and left the store. I know that there are many others who agree with me. I hope you don’t just accept and say nothing. If more customers voice out their concerns then maybe they will listen.
calvin: hehe i wouldn’t want to be that cashier you’ve talked too. but yeah their shrimps are tiny and are mostly just breading. if they can’t serve a bigger one they better take it off their menu instead.
