A few months ago, I switched to Destiny Cable TV in favor of Sky Cable. It was really good, our monthly bill got cheaper and I was able to watch NBA games and the Olympics.

However, The Amazing Race Asia 3 have begun but Destiny doesn’t have AXN on its channel lineup. It’s either I go to somebody else’s house every Thursday night, look for live streaming of AXN channel online or get back with Sky Cable.

After doing some research, I gave up looking for ways to watch AXN online (live). SopCast, TVUPlayer, Justin.TV, they don’t have it. Don’t bother looking.

This means I have to go with Sky Cable again. Fortunately, they have Sky Cable Prepaid where you can load it with cable channels on demand. If it doesn’t have any load, local channels are still available. I don’t mind since I still have Destiny Cable to fall back to. Switching from Sky to Destiny is as easy as pressing the AV button on your remote.

APPLY FOR SKY CABLE PREPAID

Initial cash out is Php1,500 for their Digibox (Digital Receiver) and it has a lock-in period of 6 months. After 6 months, you can return their box and they’ll refund your Php1,500. Sounds good? Installation was quick and easy. Got mine two days after I called.

Now for the prepaid cards, you can choose between 3 days, 15 days or 90 days. They have different denominations here and here. But not known to some of their customer support personnel, you can also load it on a daily basis. It’s Php40 for Silver (with HBO, Star, etc.) or Php20 for Select (no HBO but with AXN!).

LOAD JUST A DAY’S WORTH OF CABLE

To avail of the 1-day load worth Php20, you just have to text them for the PIN and the Php20 will be deducted from your cellphone prepaid card or postpaid bill.

Text SKYPR<space>SELECT1 and send to 2366

Once you receive your PIN, you need to enter it into your DigiBox (the technician should’ve taught you how to do this).

Text SKYPR<space>LOAD<space>Prepaid Box ID<space>PIN1PIN2
and send to 231 (Smart) or 2331 (Globe)

That’s it. just do this every Thursdays to watch The Amazing Race Asia 3.

Just a warning though, watching too much from Sky Cable with the DigiBox will make you hate switching to other cable providers. The reception is so clear and crisp! It makes watching even the local channels enjoyable.
