Google really loves WordPress.com Blogs
In Google’s recent Pagerank update (late September), I finally confirmed that Google really loves blogs coming from WordPress.com more than their very own Blogger.com.

I was able to get my PR back up to 3 again after almost a month of getting stuck at 0 for getting my own domain name. Yay! I also found out that my sisters’ blogs at WordPress.com were also rewarded by a high pagerank with the recent update. I’m really envious.
kaTkat’s blog at WP.com is now at PR5 in less than a month of blogging with 37 posts! Way to go Kat even if you don’t know what a PR4 could do to your blog. Hehehe, it means you’re likely to be seen on the first few pages of Google’s search results
Claudine’s Hideaway, also at WP.com, is now at PR5 from her previous PR3. Talk about some love from Google.
Meanwhile, my blog at Blogger.com is still at PR0 ever since it started last February even though I post almost daily. 2 of my blogger friends who are also on Blogger.com have PR0 as well.
I guess having a clean, no-ads, no sponsored posts blog can really boost your PR. Also, WP.com has a better system of promoting its sites that Blogger.

I also noticed that. My old WordPress blog (now offline) suddenly got a PR4 without much posts in it.
calvin: yeah too bad you really can’t monetize your wordpress.com blog. hehehe.
congrats!!! buti ka pa, ako 0
by the way, I have added you too :p
calvin: hehe wala kasi masyadong paid posts.
Is Calvin’s Hub hosted by WordPress? If so is it the free hosting one or the paid one?
calvin: before sa wordpress nakahost but i cant add plugins on it so i went with a paid hosting and installed a wordpress platform there then transferred all my posts and comments. kaya ok rin sa blogger kasi free yung hosting.
You cannot really have the full flexibility in WordPress.com. Di pwede javascripts. Too bad.
I had a blog at wordpress before but I abandoned it, it was the same as my main blog (technotechniques) but when I learned that I could not have paid posts in it I just left it. I visited it again a while ago and was surprised to see that it managed to get 3,000+ hits, pinabayaan ko na yun months ago.
I think paid hosting is not for me as of now he he he. But I would like to try the free hosting of 000webhost mukhang okay
calvin: if you’re going to stick with the Blogger platform I suggest you just stay with its free hosting. sakit din sa ulo ang free web hosting since pagnagkaproblema sa site mo you’re on your own sa pagfigure out what’s wrong. pero if you think you can handle the wordpress platform on your own sige go ahead with free hosting.
where can you find out about the PR ranks? what’s a PR rank anyhow?…thanks for the news!
calvin: there’s a link at the bottom where you can check your PR. i posted an article before on what’s the use of PR. http://www.calvinshub.com/2008/08/04/got-my-pagerank-bumped-by-google/
Congrats! Mine’s still at PR1, just a month after transferring my blog to the new domain/webhost. My previous blog on Blogger reached PR3. Maybe I still need lots of inbound links to get a higher PR.
calvin: na-set mo ba yung blogspot to point to your new domain? sayang din traffic from that your old site.
I agree with you Calvin. Usually those that are given free and cheap does not come with good service – especially technical support.
On the other side, expensive ones does not mean they are REALLY the best in town.
There has to be a balance between the two.
calvin: yeah, the only problem with my hosting is the support otherwise, it would have been great. the servers are fast and the price is cheap.
Ganun?
I think the point is Google hates blogs with paid posts
that’s what people say and we know that like a cliche
but some blogs still manage to get some PR even with ads… sana ako mamaintain ko or maimprove pa
calvin: yup it’s a vicious cycle. google hates paid posts. advertisers loves high PR. we need to find a good balance. ako i have one blog for paid posts while this one has only a few selected quality posts. pag less than $20 offer di ko pinopost dito.
