Lump at the back of my throat
For the past couple of days, I’ve been experiencing this lump at the back of my throat when swallowing. It’s like there’s food stuck on your throat that you can’t get rid off. It’s not really painful but it’s getting irritating and is affecting my eating habit.
I don’t know how I got it and if it’s really a lump but I’m getting concerned as days go by. I did some research on the internet and I found people who are also experiencing the same thing but didn’t say what it was or how to get rid off it.
So when we went to visit my in-laws, I let my FIL who is a doctor take a look at it. It turns out to be just an infection caused by virus or bacteria. Pharyngitis with peritonsillar abscess if I heard him right. There are little white abscesses around my tonsils that’s causing the discomfort when swallowing.
Not a big deal he says, just gargle with Bactidol every 4 hours till the infection is gone. You can also take antibiotics if you want but make sure you get a prescription. Or you can just let it be and it will go away in 4-5 days.
If you wanna make sure that you have the same problem, ask someone to take a look at your throat with a flashlight to check for white stuff around your tonsils (near the uvula). Be sure to say "aaahh" while you’re throat’s being inspected.
Whew.
