Bus drivers to get monthly wages?
I heard on the news the other night that there’s a possibility of bus drivers getting monthly wages instead of quota-based salaries. I wonder if it will push through and how long till it will be implemented.
I’m all for it though. The reason why buses race against each other for better position is to get more passengers to meet there daily quota. We all know that this causes accidents and frustration for other drivers using the road. This is why my wife is afraid of driving through EDSA, those wayward buses that suddenly cuts to your lane and immediately goes back.
For passengers, removing the daily-quota will mean no more long waits on stops just to fill up the bus. This also curbs the problem when bus drivers keep on taking in passengers when the bus is already full even if there are other buses around.
I guess it’s a win-win situation for bus drivers, passengers and private vehicle owners. But what about the bus companies? They will most likely see a decrease of profit if bus drivers skips passengers so they could finish their daily trips faster. Hehehe, I don’t know… screw them? Either that or remove those bus companies and let the government run its own bus fleet like in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Seriously, am I the only one annoyed on how buses behave in our country?

I’m also annoyed at how buses behave too. Lalo na sa Manila. They don’t stop at pedestrian crossings and passengers always run to pursue a bus..

Okay lang kung sweldohan monthly pero baka tatamad-tamad naman sila kung may sweldo monthly, kasi kung wheteher they work hard or not may matatanggap sila sweldo
calvin: yun nga lang kawawa for the bus companies. baka hindi naman kumuha ng pasahero mga drivers. hehehe. siguro magkaroon na lang ng performance evaluation.
