Finally, transport fare reduction
UPDATE: Jeepney owners are asking that the fare rollback be implemented on Friday while buses are asking for Monday. This is not yet clear so stay tuned.
Starting tomorrow, Wednesday (Nov. 4), there will be a reduction in bus and jeepney fare for commuters. After a series of fuel cost rollbacks, it’s high time that public transportation fare should also be reduced.
LTFRB approved a Php0.50 reduction on the minimum fare for jeepneys (now Php8.00) and Php1.00 reduction for buses (now Php11.00). So if the driver or conductor asks you for old rates, simply inform him that the fare reduction was already approved.
Take note that only the minimum fare is reduced and not the additional fare per succeeding kilometers. This does not require jeepneys or buses to post new fare matrices.
I wonder if taxis will also get a fare reduction soon.

I heard on the news that Taxis are refusing to lower their flag-down rates. Tsk tsk, a taxi ride from Pasong Tamo, Don Bosco side, to the Fort? 100 bucks baybeh. Sheesh.
calvin: yuck! that additional 10 peso also hurts and syempre sometimes you have to round up kasi sasabihin nila wala silang panukli.
Ok that’s good but what about those sticky stuff.. (once the raise they tend to stick there) like my favorite pandesal?
calvin: uhmmm, you use the change from the fare to add to your pandesal budget. hehehe just kidding. no word yet if bread and rice will also have price reduction but I think it should.
