Show / hide your recent blog post in Yahoo Messenger 9.0
Did you know that you could automatically show Yahoo Messenger 9.0 users your most recent post as your YM status? This is pretty neat if you want to promote your site to your YM friends without manually entering it as your status message.
Here’s what it looks like:
To achieve this, simply sign up to MyBlogLog using your Yahoo account as your e-mail address. MyBlogLog is a Yahoo! service that allows you to build a community for your blog.
Once MyBlogLog tracks your blog for new posts, it will automatically show your recent post as your default status for YM 9.0 users.
How to hide your post from your Yahoo Messenger contacts?
Of course for some people (like me), they don’t want their blog post to be shown to their YM contacts. Especially if the post is personal and not all contacts are close friends.
To disable this feature, login to Yahoo! profiles and click the Updates Settings.
You can choose to Unshare all your Updates or just the updates from MyBlogLog (you might need to click Show All Yahoo! Sources).
Don’t forget to click Save when you’re done.
You can also opt to show your Updates to a select few by adding them to your connections but that’s for another time.

Salamat. I’ve been wondering how to turn those pesky updates. Ayaw ko rin. Akala ko sa MyBloglog ito. Nabibisto kasing online ako.
calvin: hehe oo nga eh. dapat naka-disable sya by default.
uy bat ganun, ayaw matanggal yung status ko. naiinis na nga ako e. sinave ko naman noh. tapos naka uncheck pa yung share status the very first time ko nakita. naiinis na ko kasi minsan syempre ayaw ko ishare yung blog ko sa dito ko kilala esp sa mga work related. waaa… pag naasar ako idedelete ko na yung mybloglog account ko
calvin: yung sa profile page mo Updates section anong nakasulat? sa akin sabi “You are not sharing any updates”.
The basic information update thing is still showing in my Y!M even if it says in the Updates section that I’m not currently sharing my updates. Help!
