Filipino in American Idol Season 8?
I’ve been watching American Idol again hoping to see another Filipino make it through Hollywood like last season. But so far on the auditions, I haven’t seen anybody yet who seems to have a Filipino blood. San Francisco audition was such a disappointment when I thought that a Filipino would emerge from there.
Still with a few more auditions coming up, I’m still hoping that we get to have another Ramiele Malubay or a Jasmine Trias to cheer for. It would be a bit boring for me if there’s no Filipino on board. Hehehe.

UPDATE: Jenisis Samoranos made it through Round 1
Right now, I’ve seen a few contestants whom I will be keeping an eye on. Don’t know if you would recognize them. (Links point to their audition videos)
First, there’s Jason Castro’s brother Michael who I thought was gay because of his pink hair along with his smooth face. I would like to see if he could top his brother’s 4th place finish last week but I don’t think he could.
Then there’s Scott MacIntyre, the Idol who was born almost completely blind but taught himself piano and was able to graduate college at 19. Aside from his backstory, he also got a good voice and I think majority of the fans would be rooting for him. Maybe he’s gonna be the Archuleta of this season.
Anna made an interesting comment that they would be packaging him as an Andrea Bocelli. Hmm maybe Josh Groban.
There’s also this guy whose wife died just weeks before the audition, Danny Gokey. I’m not rooting for him because of his story but because this guy could sing. You could really hear his emotions in his soulful voice.
If Scott is Archuleta then Danny would be David Cook. His buddy Jamar Rogers is pretty good too.
If there’s gonna be a rocker in the Top 12, I hope it’s gonna be Emily Wynne-Hughes. I really love her audition piece Barracuda. She sounded like Heart. She’s in an all-girl rock band but her bandmates doesn’t know that she auditioned. Sounds like Constantine. Hehehe.
Sanjaya award will surely go to Anoop “NoopDawg” Desai but he clearly sings way better than Sanjaya despite his goofy look. Just wait on how AI will transform him.
There you have it. I know they didn’t show everybody who got through so there’s still a chance that a Pinoy made it. I hope I could get to root for some more people in the coming auditions. Stay tuned.

Hey dude! I’m also an American Idol fan.
I know that in 7 seasons of American Idol there are 7 pinoys who made it at least in the semis. Out of the 7 there are 3 pinays who made it into the finals. There were no pinoys in Season 1 but we had 2 pinays in Season 3 (Jasmine Trias and Camile Velasco).
This year we’ll be putting our hopes on Jennifer “Jenisis” Samoranos. She made it during the Kansas City auditions. I’ve watched her youttube videos and her myspace audios. She’s good.
Just look her name up on google.

lol.allison iraheta, is not part of American Idol season 8.So now i checked 36 finalists and Jenisis wasnt there.Im crying now…I think i couldnt watch this show again without my pinay jenisis.

I am so nervous right now… I don’t think that Jenisis made it! <=’( *cries* Because when they showed here, she was crying & the judges said that they didn’t like it!!! Oh no!!! Every season except for season 1, there has always been a Pinoy or Pinay that made it to at least the Top 36, 24 or 12!!! <=’((((

I dont think allison has a fil blood. From her myspace ethnicity is latino/hispanic. Also she has a video in youtube singing in spanish. At first glance of her i thought she’s a filipino but i guess she’s not. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.
