How was Valentine’s Day?
I really think Valentine’s Day is like the appendix. It’s one of those global holidays that you can live without. Flower vendors are charging exorbitant prices and it’s either you cook laboriously or spend more for a dinner.

Anyway, how much did your pocket suffer this Valentine’s Day? If you’re interested on how mine went, read on.
To start my Valentine’s Day, my loving wife woke up early to cook me a hearty breakfast consisting of a couple slices of spam with rice. Yummy.
We went to the hospital to spend the whole day looking after her mum who just underwent an operation. For me it’s a perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day, caring for a person close to you.
Ok, so I slept most of the day. Moving on, for lunch we just had a simple meal at McDonald’s nearby while watching people everywhere holding flowers. Bah.
Well it’s because I don’t want to leave them in the room so I couldn’t excuse myself to go out and buy flowers. Besides, my wallet was almost empty. Hehehe.
But for dinner, I had something special planned. I talked to the owner of this quaint little Chinese restaurant to close itself to other patrons so we could have the whole place to ourselves for dinner. Yeah you can call me a romantic.
I even asked them to put a little something extra on her meal because I wasn’t able to buy chocolates. And no it’s not fortune cookie. Hahaha. That’s predictable.
Tia: Quaint Chinese restaurant ka pang nalalaman? Sa Dimsum and Dumpling lang tayo kumain and pasara na sila kaya wala tayong ibang kasama. Ubos na nga yung gusto mong orderin diba? At anong something extra?
Well I told you my wallet’s empty and I doubt if they accept card. And as I said to my wife earlier, “mantao” is the new chocolate. Chocolate is too common and predictable.
So that’s how our Valentine’s Day went and I’m saying it again, V-day is overrated.

Lol! Memorable naman ng valentine’s
i received a text message that goes roughly like this:
“Marami na namang flowers. Undas na naman.”
-Bitterella
Haha.
As for me, I had the best valentine’s day of my life. Why? I was the one who received flowers and a cute lil stuff toy. And to make it more special, it was given to me in front of all my orgmates and lotsa other people as well (we were in in a fair). Everybody was cheering and I knew my face was red as the roses I received. Lol. Then we went to our fave restaurant to eat our fave chiken roulade. Yum yum!
calvin: ayos! buti ka pa.
hehehe.
LOL. Panalo ang Valentine’s mo.
Speaking of Mantao, hindi pa ako nakakakain nun. I’ll try that one of these days. I also think that V-day is overrated because everything you want to buy turns into gold. So expensive. But then, I do not complain every time someone wants to take me out to lunch or dinner –basta hindi ako ang magbabayad. Haha.
calvin: mantao is just a small siopao na walang palaman. usually ginagamit na palaman dun is the pansit canton. nothing special so don’t go out of your way to taste one. pero mas ok talaga V-day pag libre hehehe.
