3rd party earphones for iPod Shuffle 3G are pricier than itself
Most of you probably know about Apple’s latest version of the iPod Shuffle. It’s smaller than the previous one at the cost of removing the controls from the unit. So where did they put the playback controls? On the earphone cord! This means if you break the included earphones, you can’t use those $5 earphones on it.
Fortunately, there are Apple accessory makers already creating replacement earphones for the new Shuffle. There’s Scosche Industries who’s currently developing three earphone models to support the new Shuffle. Klipsch also announced their own headphones.
One problem though, the price will range from $49 to $99. Consider that the new Shuffle costs $79. Not for the masses this time. Unless Apple releases a cheap adapter with the built-in controls that can allow you to plug in an ordinary earphone.
So will the new iPod Shuffle fail Apple?
