This week’s theme is songs by Michael Jackson and tomorrow during results night there will be two idols who will be going home.

Also, at the end of the show, Ryan announced that there will be a surprise change to the rules that we’ll just have to wait and see tomorrow.

1. Lil Rounds – The Way You Make Me Feel

What a way to start the Top 13. I love the arrangement that she did making the song a bit different but really nice. Only Simon had negative criticisms saying it was a lazy song choice and didn’t like what she’s wearing.

2. Scott MacIntyre – Keep The Faith

Not a popular song but he played to his strength choosing a song that suits his voice while playing the piano. I reckon it will be boring as the show progress if he keeps on doing that. Randy says his performance is a bit safe.

3. Danny Gokey – Pretty Young Thing (PYT)

I love this song and enjoyed Danny’s performance. He was just brilliant on this one. Seems to me that he has the making of David Cook. Paula says that he’s on his way to the finals while Simon thinks that his dancing is hideous. Hehehe.

4. Michael Sarver – You Are Not Alone

Nice choice of song for him although a bit boring for me. Anyway, it was an ok performance with pretty good vocals. Simon says even though he doesn’t have the best vocals, he sings with passion.

So far so good.

5. Jasmine Murray – I’ll Be There

Stuff you sing in ordinary singing contests. Not bad but it’s still meh although she nailed the high notes especially at the end. Simon says it’s a little bit robotic and that she needs to lighten up a bit.

6. Kris Allen – Remember the Time

Girls love Kris and his guitar. It was ok but doesn’t have the “wow” factor for me. Paula says he’s adorable and sexy while Randy says he has the Jason Mraz-y style going on.

7. Allison Iraheta – Give In To Me

Man I can’t believe that came out of a 16-year old. She rocked the house and is gonna be the rocker chick this season. The judges were really impressed.

8. Anoop Desai – Beat It

Uh-oh, it’s the weakest performance so far. He didn’t do much with the song. No fancy moves either so it was a bit plain. Even the always positive Paula said it sounded a bit karaoke and Kara said it didn’t connect.

9. Jorge Nunez – Never Can Say Goodbye

Those brows are really bugging me. Hehehe. Song is ok, sounded like a guy version of Jasmine Murray. His performance didn’t connect with Kara as well. Simon says it was corny and that he can’t wait for it to end.

10. Megan Joy Corkrey – Rockin’ Robin

I really dig this girl. Love that song choice even if it’s a bit old. She’s the breath of fresh air in the show filled with blues, soul and power singers. It’s either you love her or hate her. Too bad judges didn’t love her this time. Hope she stays.

11. Adam Lambert – Black and White

It’s not the cleanest vocals of the night for me (reminds me of Axl Rose with those screaming) but his showmanship carried him through. He got the thumbs up from Simon saying his performance is in a different league from the others. Randy says he is ready to make records.

12. Matt Giraud – Human Nature

Matt is on his element playing in the piano with some sort of Justin Timberlake style going on. His rendition is like a cross between MJ’s and SWV’s and all the judges liked it.

13. Alexis Grace – Dirty Diana

I’m happy that the producers gave Alexis the chance to close the show and boy was she impressive! Looked hot too! Looks naughty and sexy says Paula and Kara. Only Simon didn’t like her performance.

Prediction:

Overall, the evening turned out really well. Great performances from almost all contestants particularly Lil Rounds, Gokey, Adam, Allison and Alexis.

Weakest performance would probably go to Anoop and Jorge but I have a strong feeling that Jorge and Jasmine will go home tomorrow. There’s just too many Anoop fans out there.
