How to upload downloaded games/apps to your iPod Touch

If you have a downloaded game or app with the .IPA extension name, you can easily put them on your iPod Touch. Here’s a guide on how to do just that.

ipa

It is important that you have a jailbroken iPod touch first because you need Cydia for this one.

Install miPatch or AppSync

Installing miPatch (for 2.2.1) or AppSync 3.0 (for 3.0) or AppSync 3.1 (for 3.1.x) will allow you to put .IPA files in iTunes so you can sync it with your iPod. You can find the installer in Hackulo.us.

1. First open Cydia and go to Manage.

ipa1

2. Click Sources.

ipa2

3. Click Edit then Add.

4. On the URL field, enter http://cydia.hackulo.us then click Add Source.

ipa3

5. It should appear in the Sources page. Go ahead and click Done then click Hackulo.us.

ipa4

6. Click miPatch Firmware 2.2.1 to download and install it. If you’re already on OS 3.0, use AppSync for OS 3.0 instead or AppSync 3.1 for OS 3.1.x, or AppSync 4 for iOS4.

ipa5

When you’re done, it’s time to look for some apps and games.

If you can’t install miPatch for some reason, try MobileInstallation Patch instead. In step 4, enter http://iphone.org.hk/apt/ then search for the MobileInstallation Patch and install that.

Where to get cracked games and apps

UPDATE: Appulo.us seems to be dead already so head to Apptrackr.org instead.

To download cracked apps and games, head to Appulo.us. You can search for your favorite games/apps or browse through their huge collection. When you click on a title, a window will appear onscreen pointing you to its permanent page.

appulous

When you scroll down, you will see a list of sites where the file can be downloaded. The IPA’s can be downloaded from different online file storage service.

When you’re finished downloading the .IPA files, it’s time to put them into your iPod.

Uploading your .IPA to your iPod

This one’s really simple that I won’t bother posting screenshots.

1. Open iTunes.

2. Drag the .IPA onto the Applications section.

3. Sync your iPod.

4. Enjoy!

That’s it. This is one of the main reason why people jailbreak their iPod. Of course, you should pay for your apps and games to receive support and upgrades. Besides, sometimes the cracked version won’t work well.

hey is there any recommended IM application? I’ve tried IM+ and Beejive and lagi nacacancel ung license (and we know why, hahaha)…anyway, kasi ung yahoo messenger and other free IM applications seem to disconnect when minimized… un lang… :P

  2. calvin says:

yeah ganun talaga. apple doesnt want apps to run in the background so lagi kang malolog-off. hopefully sa future payagan na nila. Yahoo lang talaga pinaka-ok sa akin kasi yung iba you have to sign up for their service. i only use it to leave offline messages though.

hi done everything on the instructions kaso may prob ako yung pag open ko g itunes hen check ko yung applications tab t check sana manually kun ano mga i-sy-sync kong apps kaso ang prob parang disabled lahat ng buttons di ko masync mga apps any idea?

    • Calvin says:

i dont have itunes here right now pero there should be a manual sync dun sa first tab. kung disabled rin yung sync na button then it means everything’s in sync. check mo applications link sa itunes kung yung na-upload nga talaga yung app.

    Hi…

I followed your instruction but for some reason when I tried to drag the ipa file into the Applications it says i can’t.

Is it because when I add the source it kept on saying
    http://cydia.zodttd.com
    POSIX: connection refused
    ???

Is there another way to upload the ipa files onto my touch??

    • Calvin says:

yup it means you still haven’t installed mipatch or mobile installation. maybe cydia was unavailable during that time. as far as I know you really need any of those two installed.

  5. javier says:

i got a problem with my itouch i did everything and installed mipatch, dragged the applications into i tunes and sync my itouch everything went well but now im trying to open the application in the itouch and it says application cannot be open any thoughts

calvin: not sure. this happened to all downloaded applications? maybe buggy cracked app?

  6. ness says:

do we need wifi connection to install mispatch?

    • Calvin says:

yup, you need wifi to connect to cydia to get mipatch. please be aware that if you’re alread on 3.0 then you need Appsync instead of miPatch.

  7. ness says:

how can i check if im already at 3.0?

    • Calvin says:

uh.. bago lang yung 3.0 you have to pay $9.99 to have your ipod upgraded. nasa settings din yung firmware version ng ipod mo. or kung meron ka nung voice memo na app by default then you’re already on 3.0.

    • Calvin says:

if you jailbroke it using 3.0 you must install Appsync 3.0 first to use those cracked apps. do note that some apps/games doesn’t work yet on 3.0. the developers must update those.
