What’s with Citibank and PAL?

Most of you, like my wife, may have already scoured the PAL website looking for a good deal in airfare. They had this sale on tickets starting the 27th and 28th for flight dates between June and October. PAL hates CitibankAnyway, my wife tried to book an EconoLight PAL ticket for our trip at the end of this year using her Citibank Visa card. After many attempts (including at different times using different machines), she still can’t book the flight on the website saying that she might have entered incorrect details. That’s a problem because you can only buy an EconoLight ticket online.

She called up PAL and they said that the reason that she can’t book with her card is that it might belong to their fraud list. Huh?! How did it got there? They don’t know. How can they remove it from the list? They don’t know. What a bunch of helpful peeps.

angerIn effect, they’re saying that the card is pretty much useless when purchasing PAL tickets online and suggested she buy tickets from their sales office instead. What the?! Is this a ploy so to prevent other people from taking advantage of their promo?

Hey PAL, get your act together and don’t offer to use an alternative card as a solution. Do something about that bogus fraud list if it really exists.

My wife called CitiBank by the way and they told her nothing’s wrong with the card. We we able to use it for grocery the other day.

Anybody else experienced the same thing? Her aunt in Singapore also wasn’t able to book a flight home with PAL using her Citibank card by the way.

Well I didn’t experience any problems with my Citibank whenever booking flights with PAL BUT I’ve experienced so much pain and headaches when I was trying to book a ticket to the US during their promo dates. I swear, nakakagalit! They told the entire universe that they’re offering almost 50% off on International flights BUT their website was either down or just simply sucks. Feeling ko forever akong nasa harap ni Edu trying and refreshing PAL’s website. Hay, nastressed lang ako.

calvin: hehe seems that their systems can’t accommodate the number of customers pag-promo time. they even allowed purchasing of those promo tickets sa sales office nila eh although pipila ka hanggang hatinggabi.
