Adidas Wanted Old Shoes experience
Boy, what a tiring day it turned out for just finding a pair of rubber shoes for my wife. We took advantage of Adidas’ Wanted: Old Shoes promo to buy a pair of comfy adizero’s for my wife (check out the pic at the end of this post). Those adizero’s are quite expensive for a pair of super lightweight sneakers and the P1,000 discount is a big help.
By the way, the promo has been extended until May 31.
Not just any rubber shoes
Before you go out, please take note of what kind of shoes you can trade in. They don’t accept those Nike “porma” sneakers or those worn out Chucks. It should be sports shoes and not rubber shoes made for just walking (unless it’s Adidas).
If you’re looking for an old pair of kicks, ask yourself if you will wear those on a full game of badminton or basketball. If no, then look for something else.
Oh yeah, discounted items are exempted from the promo.
Off to Greenbelt
I grabbed an old pair of my sister’s sneakers from our shoe closet and went to Greenbelt to shop. There’s this huge Adidas store in Greenbelt and there were already a small crowd inside that most of the salesperson are already occupied.
After looking at some designs, we found out that they don’t have size 6’s anymore. Can’t do anything about it so we head to nearby Glorietta.
Lots of sports shops in Glorietta
In Glorietta, we went first to Planet Sports. Not much designs to choose from.
Athlete’s Foot, we saw one that we really liked but size 7 was the smallest one left.
The Adidas shop here is quite small and there’s not much women’s rubber shoes available.
Royal Sporting House is next but they only have maybe 4 old stock of women’s shoes. Same with Cinderella.
We went to the third floor to check out Toby’s Sports but the one my wife tried out doesn’t fit like the one we’re looking for.
We even went to SM but they also don’t have the style we’re looking for.
About to give up
We were desperate to buy a shoes because I don’t want to go home empty handed after lugging an old pair of sneakers the whole afternoon.
We already thought of trying our luck the following day in SM Megamall but on our way home, we passed through Park Square and saw a Toby’s Sports there. We found an adizero shoes that we like but didn’t see in any of the shops we’ve been. And they had a size 6 as well!! It’s Php3,895 minus Php1,000.
Unfortunately as we’re about to pay, they said that the sneakers that we brought doesn’t fit the criteria of a sports shoes. Bummer.
As we’re about to leave Park Square, the salesguy ran after us and told us that a customer left an old pair of basketball shoes because the one he brought is already discounted. He said that we could use it for that P1,000 rebate.
Whooppeee, we went back and thanked the guy and got my wife her P2,895 adizero Ace. We also left the old sneakers behind because I don’t want to be carrying it back home.
Yay! So are you going to take advantage of the Wanted: Old Shoes promo too?
