American Idol 8 Top 3 Results
This is the night when we would learn who will be advancing to the finals next week. Most part of the show is dedicated to the homecoming videos of Danny, Kris and Adam. Jordin Sparks and Katy Perry performed as well.
American Idol received over a whopping 88 million votes last night and only 1 million is separating the top two tonight.
After Katy Perry who’s sporting an Adam Lambert cape performed her single “Waking Up in Vegas”, it’s time for the actual results.
Kris is going to the finals
Ryan announced the first contestant who’s performing next week and it’s Kris Allen.
Who knew that Kris, who was virtually unknown at the start, would reach up to the finals this season. He didn’t get much airtime in the beginning especially during Hollywood week and even the auditions unlike Matt or Anoop.
What’s so special about Kris anyway? If compared to last season, he’s simply the Jason Castro this year. He doesn’t have a wide range or a powerful voice and his first couple of performances are just mediocre and safe at best.
I guess his rendition of Kanye West’s Heartless last night really pulled him through just like what Simon predicted. People are still talking about his version of the song. Kris should probably thank The Fray for giving him an idea for the arrangement.
Anyway, I think he has a charming Jason Mraz-type of personality that’s drawing people to him. And I have to admit that the arrangements that he sang during the competition were good.
Way to go Kris and we’re expecting a lot from you next week.
It’s going to be “a big ding-dong” finale next week
Hehehe. I don’t exactly know what it meant but that’s what judge Simon said at the end of the show.
So who’s going to join Kris next week? Ryan announced that it’s going to be Adam and it’s time to say goodbye to Danny. Kara’s jaw dropped and couldn’t believe Danny’s out. His journey video was shown and he delivered a very, very beautiful performance of You Are So Beautiful that made Paula teary-eyed.
Seriously, you got to watch that last performance by Danny. Even Simon mentioned that it was brilliant.
Next week will be a 2-part season finale and I don’t care who will win as long as both deliver worthwhile performances.

I think what Simon meant is that Adam and Kris will go head to head at the finals.
Anyway I’m betting on Kris Allen. You said it already that the arrangements made by Kris are really good. And I think an American Idol should not only one who could sing, but a total package of talent.
Well whoever wins truly deserves it and would definitely be a big star.
