Susan Boyle’s Memories passed BGT’s semi-final round
The world was waiting for Susan Boyle to sing again in this year’s Britain’s Got Talent. At the start of the semi-final round where 40 people will perform for only 10 slots in the next round, Susan didn’t disappoint with her rendition of Memories from the musical Cats.
She started a bit shaky but she got it going eventually and finished beautifully. The audience loved her and the three judges gave her a standing ovation as well.
Also, joining her to the next round is the street dance group Diversity who some people say was the best act of the evening and I somehow agree. You have to check out their routine.
Who’s not advancing
One of my favorite performers, 23-year old violinist Sue Son, didn’t make it through no thanks to being in the same group as Boyle. If you’re a fan of Vanessa Mae then you might like Sue Son too. Simon does not though, saying that she’s talented but not that likeable.
10-year old little diva Natalie Okri wasn’t able to advance either. I guess she got the attack of the nerves as she sings Jamelia’s Superstar. It was a big letdown from her audition a couple of weeks ago. The dancing was stiff and the song didn’t allow her to showcase her range.
Filipino guitarist, 59-year old Ray Desumala was included in the list of 200 who passed the audition. However, he was cut by the judges when they made their list of 40 who will be performing in the semi-final round. I’m not expecting too much from him though.

mas gusto ko pa rin yung I Dreamed A Dream. Memory didn’t give that much of a wow factor to me.
calvin: yeah, nawala na kasi yung surprise eh. pero sya pa rin favorite to win.
The beginning was really shaky. Parang pumiyok pa nga sya eh. Pero nabawi nya sa last part/verse. Galing!
@claudine I agree. I Dreamed A Dream is way better. First line pa lang WOW agad. Pero there lies the problem. Her first performace was soooooo good kaya parang ang hirap ng “talunin” pa yun, Anyway, if Susan will be able to deliver a better performance than the 1st, she’ll wow millions more pf people.
calvin: yeah alanganin yung first notes. yun din sabi ni Piers sa kanya. pangit ng simula pero nabawi nya sa dulo.
i didn’t like her semifinal round performance. still like her first song
