When will Amazing Race Asia return?
Usually around this time of the year when American Idol has ended, the next big thing in the telly for me (aside from the NBA Playoffs) is Amazing Race Asia.
Last year in Season 3, we came up short at 2nd place and I’m sure a lot of us are aching to see a 1st place finish for Filipinos in TARA4.
So will there still be a Season 4 for TARA?
If you check out the official site there’s no word if a Season 4 will happen. No calling for applicants nor any dates on when audition starts. The official forum isn’t much big of a help either.
But fear not! According to an interview with Bertram van Munster (creator of Amazing Race) in Variety.com last February, he confirmed that Season 4 is in the works. Still probably in the planning stage.
Q. Do you have any idea whether there would be any more seasons of the popular Asian version? I’ve just turned 21 (the minimum eligibility for trying out on the show) and was hoping to try out for the show with my friend. We’d be extremely disappointed if it got cancelled now after having to wait for so long to become eligible. — Vikshant
A. BvM: Yes, we are producing Amazing Race 4 there, which is in the works now.

The Amazing Race Israel
I’m guessing that they don’t want the Asian version to coincide with The Amazing Race Israel which is already nearing its conclusion (ends in June 4).
Yep, there’s an Amazing Race Israel which they call HaMerotz LaMillion that translates to The Race to the Million in English.
How come Israel got its own Amazing Race? Hmm, somebody must’ve paid a whole lot to the franchise.
Anyway, let’s just hope audition for TARA4 will start really soon. I’m guessing it would be mid-June or early-July. So by giving it 3 months of filming, I’m thinking it would be aired late this year. Sigh.
I want my Amazing Race Asia so bad!

Most likely they’ll have one in the spring. I just wish they would post audition dates already.
