Going to Boracay from Caticlan
After only a few days of sun during our trip to Boracay, I know I had to go back. We haven’t even able to taste the much talked about fruit shake from Jonah’s.
So before I forgot this piece of info, I’m detailing how to get to Boracay from Caticlan airport and the fees associated with it.
Only small planes (PAL Express, Cebu Pacific, Zest Air, SeaAir) can get to Caticlan airport which is the fastest way to Boracay.
Just outside Caticlan Airport, there’s a booth where you need to pay the environmental fee of P50/person. You can also buy the tricycle and boat fare here.
- Environmental fee – P50 (not required on the trip back)
- Tricycle – P80 per trike with a capacity of 3-4 person
- Boat – P25 per head
The tricycle will take you to the the Caticlan Jetty Port in about 5 – 8 minutes. There’s a port fee here of only P2 per head. Show your boat ticket and you’re ready to board.
The boat trip is a short one. On a fine day it will only take 5 minutes to get to Boracay Jetty Port.
When you get to Boracay, you still have to take a tricycle to take you to the place where you will be staying. You can rent the whole tricycle for P100 (called special fare) or you can join other passengers on a tricycle for P20 per head.
Just tell your driver where you will be staying and hopefully he knows where to drop you. Or know whether your place is located in Station 1, 2 or 3 or near D’mall and tell that to the driver.
There will be porters everywhere during the course of your trip asking if you need help carrying your luggage. Each costs P20. I would suggest using duffel bag instead of those with strollers.
