SMART goes unlimited with Smartalk
Starting today, SMART will be offering unlimited call service for its subscribers, both postpaid and prepaid.
Now before you say “Whoa, I want that!”, let’s dissect this promo that they call Smartalk. I decided to call SMART for some questions and clarifications.
Smartalk explained
It comes with two variants, a 5-day worth of unlimited calls for P100 (Smartalk 100) and a 30-day worth of unlimited calls for P500 (Smartalk 500).
As mentioned, this is available for both postpaid and prepaid subscribers and can only be used to call SMART and Talk N’ Text subscribers.
To call using Smartalk, you need to use *6400 followed by the 11-digit SMART number, e.g. *640009181234567.
For Smart Buddy (Prepaid)
The easiest way to get Smartalk is to buy it as a load from retailers scattered everywhere. Just make sure you ask for Smartalk load and not the regular one.
Or if you want to use your load to pay for the service, just send Talk100 (for 1 day) or Talk500 (for 30 days) to 6400.
For Smart Gold (Postpaid)
If you are subscribed to Plan 800 and up, you can avail of the 30-day unlimited call by simply sending Talk500 to 6400. The P500 will be charged to your monthly bill so if you’re on Plan 800, you still have P300 for SMS and calling other networks.
Plan 500 subscribers can only avail the service by buying a Smartalk load from loading stations.
This Smartalk promo will be offered nationwide until September 30, 2009.
Hmm, I wonder if Globe will follow suit.

I think sulit ito sa mga salesman and mga businessman.
at sulit din sa mga students….. at lovers…..
but di ko ata masusulit ang unlimited calls….
thanks for sharing this calvin!
calvin: i think ok yung plan 800 to avail this lalo na pagmarami silang smart numbers na madalas tawagan. The remaining 300 is enough for text siguro.
i checked it out. papatong daw sa monthly service fee eh, not deductible. so if plan 800 and nagsmarttalk 500, magiging 1300. if you want to avail, you can have it loaded to you as 500 – buy it as prepaid.
calvin: that’s odd. iba yung sinabi saken nung nakausap ko. i asked kasi kung bakit yung postpaid plan 500 hindi maka-avail simply by texting talk500 eh dahil daw walang matitira sa balance nya. hmmm. let me know kung na-try niyo. hehehe.
I do hope Globe will make a similar promo. Perhaps the charge is lower by a couple of pesos. I’ll definitely try the 30 day scheme.
calvin: yup sulit yung 30-day lalo na if you have a lot of SMART contacts that you usually call daily.
