My Panasonic Lumix ZS1′s trip to FHM Party 2009
I bought my Panasonic Lumix ZS1 a few weeks back and I was waiting for a chance to try it out. Fortunately, Jo of Showbilicious invited me and my wife to the FHM 100 Sexiest Women 2009 Party last Thursday.
It was a perfect opportunity to test my wide-angle super zoom (25mm – 300mm) point and shoot camera. I want see how it would fare in an indoor setting with erratic lightings.
I was actually impressed with its performance. It cannot capture sharp pictures as good as DSLR’s with its small lens but it exceeded my expectations I didn’t use any flash and just set it to its “intelligent auto” mode.
My only qualm is how quickly the battery drained so I missed some opportunities trying to conserve it for the finale.

Thank goodness for that 12x zoom. It really helped taking photos without any bobbing heads from the other guests.
Too bad some of the marquee names were not present. Babes like Francine Prieto, Maureen Larazzabal, Myles Hernandez, Angel Locsin, Marian Rivera, Ehra Madrigal, Angelica Panaganiban were not there.
It was a hellish 6-hour event trying to jostle with sweaty guys just to get a good position. We also had to stand up the whole time and our feet really hurt afterwards. It was also an expensive night with canned sodas and bottled water costing Php50 apiece. Hehehe.
It was still a good experience though. I enjoyed the bands (Itchyworms, Sandwich and Kamikazee) but not the host who kept on prolonging each segment with worthless chatter.

Next time bring a car battery for the cam to make sure you would have enough power. hahaha
