UPDATE 11PM 10/1 | Typhoon “PEPENG” has slowed down slightly as it continues to move towards Aurora-Isabela area. Signal No. 2 in Catanduanes. Signal No. 1 in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Quezon, Aurora, Sorsogon, Polilio and Burias Island.

Today at 5PM, Typhoon Pepeng (international codename Parma) has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility when it made landfall in Northern Mindanao. However, no public signal storm warnings were raised.

Here is the satellite imagery taken from PAGASA as of 9PM today and the next advisory will be issued at 11PM tonight.

Reports coming in are mentioning that it’s already raining in Davao. PAGASA expects that strong winds will affect the eastern seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao and cautions small seacrafts from venturing out to the sea.

Initial forecasts this morning are saying that Pepeng will only hit the northernmost region of Luzon and will make its landfall in Taiwan but it’s not the case as of this moment.

If you’re following satellite imageries of Pepeng  since this morning, you will notice that it has grown larger when it merged with one of the storm trailing it.

I’m hoping that it will skip or just graze Metro Manila and other areas affected by Ondoy as rescue and relief operations are still ongoing. Try to be prepared guys. Stock up on food and candles just in case. And continue praying.
