The story behind the child-abusing maid video
Remember the video that is showing up in Facebook where this housemaid is literally abusing her ward? The title of the video is “YAYA HULI SA CAM” and here it is again if you still haven’t seen it:
I can’t find an english expression that suits my reaction after watching that video. My wife says “nangingitngit sa galit” and according to Gena the english translation is “seething in anger”. Anyway, onto the story.
It is a 2-year old video captured via webcam that a Malaysian couple secretly installed in their condominium. It caught the Indonesian maid kicking, dragging and stamping on their three-year old daughter.
According to Kuala Lumpur CID Chief Senior Assistant Commissioner II Ku Chin Wah, the maid was charged, convicted and sentenced to 24 months in jail.
2 years only?!? Since it happened in August 2007, the maid must be out now. What kind of justice is that?
