5 cool games for your iPod Touch
When Steve Jobs defended the iPod Touch as more of a portable gaming device to warrant the lack of a camera, he wasn’t kidding. I’m not talking about simple match-3 games or other arcade games but games that can rival those from PSP’s and Nintendo DS.
The following are 5 new cool games for the iPod Touch that I recently discovered. I can’t believe I can play these on my iPod!
1. Dungeon Hunter by Gameloft

Dare I say Diablo? It’s a portable hack-and-slash game akin to the popular title that started it all. Choose between Rogue, Knight and Mage to do quests and missions in this RPG for your iPod Touch.

2. Warfare Incorporated by Spiffcode

This RTS game follows the tried and tested formula of resource gathering, army building style of Starcraft and Red Alert. Something that will not give the same success when ported to a non-touch gaming device like the PSP. This game even supports multiplayer and leaderboards.

3. NBA Live by EA Sports

What?!? They ported the best basketball game to the iPod? I haven’t tried it yet and I doubt it would be a nice gaming experience but thinking about how such a big game can fit into a small and slim device makes me want to congratulate myself again for getting an iPod Touch.

4. Real Racing by Firemint

This has got to be the must-own racing game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. I’ve tried “Kart” games and other racing games for the Touch like Need for Speed but nothing compares to driving game experience like Real Racing.

5. Earthworm Jim by Gameloft

Want some sidescrolling action game? Check out Gameloft’s Earthworm Jim. The classic game from Sega feels like playing Assassin’s Creed which is not too enjoyable if you’re not good with a virtual d-pad. However, it’s Earthworm Jim and it’s still a lot of fun to play.
If you have .IPA (install files) for these games, you can upload them to your iPod Touch without having to purchase them from the app store. Here’s how.
There are a lot of other cool games you can play but these 5 will show you how good a gaming device the iPod Touch is. Not to mention that you can also play music and watch videos and surf the net on it right?
So if you’re still thinking on whether to get one, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to an early Christmas gift.
