Digging my new customized mi adidas
About a month ago, I availed of the 50% discount on mi adidas shoes when we registered for the King of the Road marathon which is happening this Sunday. A weeks ago, I just got word that my customized pair has arrived so we went to the adidas store in Greenbelt 3 to pick it up.

Before I reveal how my shoes looked like, here’s how you can customize your mi adidas here in the Philippines. The only branch that offers mi adidas here is in Greenbelt 3 (previously it was in Trinoma Mall) where their flagship store is located.
Choose your shoe model
You cannot customize any shoe model but there’s a handful of models to choose from (basketball, running, football, etc.).

I already have a running shoe so I picked the Barricade V to customized after seeing it from US Open tennis star, Melanie Oudin. It is a tennis shoe but you can also use it in other sports requiring lots of lateral movement.
Customize and Fit
Going back to customization, an adidas representative (in my case it was Jerome) will guide you into customizing your shoe through the mi adidas website. It would be easier if you already tried customizing it before going to the store.

Not all shoe has the same number of customizable elements and combinations. For example, the Barricade V has a simple design while the Superstar can accommodate a lot of color combinations.
Aside from color scheme, you can also customize the width, type of sockliner, sole and even add your name to it.

They have this foot scan which looks like a big mouse pad where you have to run and step into so they can determine your foot fall pattern. This will help them advise you the type of liner and sole that you need.

After you’re satisfied with the design, it’s time to fit. Jerome let me try pairs of “molds” according to my shoe specifications (size, width, liner, etc.) until I got the fit that I’m comfortable with.
You then have to wait for a maximum of 3 weeks to get your shoe. They still have to ship it in Singapore where customizations are really made.
Price
As for the price, add about Php2000 or more to the price of a regular shoe. The Barricade V costs Php6000 and the mi adidas version of it costs Php8000. Fortunately, I got the 50% off so the Php4000 is the price that I normally pay for a pair of basketball shoes.
So if you’re planning to get one of these mi adidas, don’t rush the design and fitting. The experience should also worth the money that you will be paying for.
Oh yeah, here are a couple of shots of my new kicks:

If it weren’t for the 50% off, I wouldn’t go for this. Thanks to adidas for giving the first 100 registrants of KOTR this discount. I think all slots were filled up pretty fast.
I hope they bring the mi adidas version of the adidas Originals line here in the country to attract the casual and trendy adidas fans.

Hi Calvin!
Nice shoes ha!
I envy your 50% off!
How did you get ‘em?
Would you happen to have another coupon lying around by any chance?
i posted about it before at the end of my post here.
everybody can avail of it if they are the first 100 who registered for the king of the road race.
