With the ever increasing number of Facebook, Twitter and other social networking site users these days, they are becoming a viable venue to promote your blog. If you have lots of informative or interesting articles in your blog, better use a social network plugin to provide your readers an easy way to share your posts.

I used to have Sociable here at Calvinshub but I find it too small, simple and boring. Then I found what I think is the coolest looking social network plugin, SexyBookmarks!

At the end of each of my posts, there’s this groovy menu of popular social network sites which you can choose to share what you are currently reading. You might see the same style of menu in other sites with the words “Sharing is Sexy!” or “Sharing is Caring” but I chose not to use those text.

The SexyBookmarks plugin is very easy to customize. Just select from a bunch of social networks which you want displayed and that’s it! There are also other customizable features available for you to tweak so it’s also a bit flexible.

The menu looks good on light or dull background but I don’t know about dark colors. Now if only it has the option to decrease the size of boxes so I can squeeze one more network on my menu without adding another line.

So far, I’m beginning to see a handful of referrals these days from social networking sites such as facebook, orkut, plurk, etc. so I guess this thing really works. Go ahead and try it in your blog.
