Unexpected income from Amazon Associates
Don’t you love unexpected income? Like finding long-forgotten money inside your jean’s pocket or inside a seldomly-used bag? Well I got a mail from Amazon just the other day and I was curious what’s it for.

Yay! Unexpected spending money.
I signed up with Amazon Associates a few months back without knowing how effective my blog would be for the commission-based program. In Amazon Associates, you post Amazon product links to your blog and get commission (4% initially) from sales generated from them. Minimum payout is $100.
Since I write about gadgets every now and then, I figure that it wouldn’t hurt including real-time Amazon prices with link to the product on my posts. Looking back at my earning report, it seems that I made a lot of sales for the Asus netbooks from my 1000HE and 1005HA comparison.
Unfortunately, the interest on those two netbooks are dwindling down so I have to do other popular product reviews.
If you typically post reviews on your blog, you might want to give Amazon Associates a try to earn a bit of spending money. Go for the big and expensive products such as refrigerators or lawnmowers. Hehehe.

Thanks for the info calvin. I just received my first payout. Don’t know where to encash it so I called BDO and Metrobank in Bogo Cebu. They want me to open a dollar account to have the check deposited. For BDO $200 is needed while $500 for Metrobank. But I inquired Landbank and they said I need open an account (ATM) for P500.00 (Pesos) only. The same day, I got the ATM card. After that, I deposited the check from amazon and they said it will take 45 days for the check to be cleared. Can’t wait for the check to be cleared. By the way, good post!
wow congrats on your earnings. From Bogo ka pa.
Would you know kung anong ok na broadband stick pagdating sa Kawit?
wala kong idea eh.. yung stick na sinasabi mo ay yung plug it type, baka malakas ang smart kac kahit saan may smart..
I’m just started playing with Amazon Associates right now with my own tech blog, pero gaano katagal mu naghintay yung arrival ng cheke dito sa Pinas? Is it Net-30 or monthly? May Philtrust ako nga bank account at accepted yung international checks.
Thanks!
Hello Jeff,
Amazon earnings will be finalized after a month. Then, you will receive the check 30-50 days after that. So more than 2 months. Clearing takes additional 23 days. As per my experience, every 2nd tuesday of the week ko narereceive ang check. Then deposit agad sa bank. Mejo matagal but for as long as you earn more than $100 every month, magiging monthly na ang pagtanggap mo ng check after the first one.
I’m expecting one this 2nd week of Feb, my payment for my November2011 earnings.
