The boys were a bit disappointing yesterday so let’s hope the girls would bring it today. Crystal Bowersox needed medical attention yesterday (they say it’s her diabetes?) but is cleared to perform today. She’s up first so let’s see how it pans out for her.

Let’s hear it for our top 10 girls.

Wow, even if I’m not familiar with the song Crystal was pretty amazing. Simon even admitted underestimating her and compared her moment to Kelly Clarkson.

Weird and bad arrangement. Can’t say anything good about her performance. It’s really that bad. Excruciating says Randy.

Lacey Brown – Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer

I think the song really fits her personality and voice but her performance sounded weak and boring for me. Not good but not that bad as well. At least it was better than last week although by a small margin.

Katie Stevens – Put Your Records On by Corinne Bailey Rae

I like it except for those high parts. Judges didn’t like her choice. They say the song’s too old for her. Ellen wants her to choose song that fits her young age. Kara was frustrated. Cute girl.

Didi Benami – Lean On Me by Bill Withers

Interesting arrangement although a bit boring for an already boring song. Bad choice again according to the judges. Kara says it wasn’t good.

Michelle Delamor – With Arms Wide Open by Creed

I love this song and but not this “girlified” version. She messed the song up for me. Judges only commented on how good she looks on her outfit. Only Kara liked her performance. Blah. I’m gonna check if the studio version would be better.

Lilly Scott – A Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke

I’m really digging this girl. Her voice reminds me of Megan Joy from last season who I also like. Ellen says that she got “it” and Kara says it was her first moment in the competition.

Katelyn Epperly – The Scientist by Coldplay

Katelyn’s played the piano on this one and it was a cool take on The Scientist although I have to agree with Ellen who kinda fell asleep because it was slow. Hehe. Simon says it was a million times better than last week.

It was plain for me. Kara who wrote the song says she missed the point of it which is being angry but she still liked it. Simon says it was forgettable while Ellen and Randy liked her performance.

Siobhan Magnus – Think by Aretha Franklin

Big song and she nailed it including that Adam Lamberty screech. For me she’s the best female in the competition. Randy says it was dope and Kara can’t get over that big note near the end. Simon says she’s interesting (whatever that means) and very, very talented.

Prediction

The girls are wayyy better than the guys this week. I really dig Siobhan and Crystal who are going to be in the Top 5 for sure (probably even Top 3). Lilly Scott was good too.

The worst performance of the night belongs to Haeley Vaughn. Lacey and Michelle are both weak as well. I think Haeley and Michelle will be going home this week. Let’s find out who leaves tomorrow.
