American Idol 9 Top 12 Recap and Prediction
Tonight is the real start of the competition where everyone should step up their game. I’m looking at you Andrew Garcia. Kinda big news… before the show, Paige Miles was diagnosed with laryngitis but she says she would still perform tonight. I think that move will earn some votes from the viewers.
Ok let’s get it on with Rolling Stones night.

There he goes again with his falsetto and he’s gaining confidence now. Nice way to start the show. Randy says that he slayed it and Simon only pointed out his dancing which he says was corny. Good job Big Mike!

Nice! Despite missing some lyrics, it was still a very good performance vocal-wise. Kara likes her intensity and Randy says she was on fire tonight. Simon says it was solid but not a brilliant performance.

That was a fun performance for Casey. Kara says he’s a rockstar. Randy liked it but Simon says it was like an audition performance. He wants Casey to stick out and not stay in the middle.

I really like this girl. She reminds me of Leigh Nash of Sixpence None The Richer. Anyway, I like this performance and I hope she keeps on choosing songs that would match her voice. Sadly, the judges weren’t that impressed. Ouch. It was sleepy for Ellen, fifty-fity for Kara and Simon says she thinks too much.

Not bad. Not that good either. Actually, it’s not a strong way to start the Top 12. Guess Rolling Stones doesn’t fit him. Randy says it was pitchy while Ellen loved it saying it was his best performance yet. Kara says she didn’t see him connecting to the song. Simon wants him to survive for another week. Make it happen America.
Katie Stevens – Wild Horses

Kinda boring for me. Judges liked it saying it was better than previous performances. Ellen was amazed and Simon says she chose a strong song and that she gave it a hundred percent.

Ellen nailed how it sounded to me, she felt like she was in a resort drinking a pina colada. Hahaha. Kara applauded him for doing something different… Simon says the same thing although he added that it didn’t work. RS fans wouldn’t want this song “reggaed”.

One of the few Rolling Stones songs that I love. I liked what she did here but somehow I’m not digging her voice for this song. It would sound better for Adam Lambert. Hehehe. The glory note was wicked though. Too bad she didn’t exactly nail it. Kara says it was the best interpretation of the night and for Simon it was the standout performance.

Very nice considering he was preceded by Siobhan. It sounded really good for me. For Randy it was dope and Kara says he displayed tremendous growth. It was just a safe one for Simon. He wants Lee to have a moment.

She lacked the power due to her laryngitis. It was alright though, better than when she was well. Randy noticed the lack of energy. Actually, the judges gave her a pass tonight because of her condition. I think America will do too.
Aaron Kelly – Angie

Very good but boring. Aaron is getting boring for me with the way he sings. For Ellen he and Siobhan were the standout performance of the night. Simon praised him for choosing the right song.
Crystal Bowersox – You Can’t Always Get What You Want

Well the judges can’t always pimp Crystal every week. Tonight she got compared to Siobhan who beat her. It was still one of the good performance of the night for me. Simon wants her to dig deep when choosing songs.
Prediction
The best performances of the night for me will have to be Siobhan and Crystal. No surprise there coming from the strongest idols this season. The others are just “meh”.
Worst performance goes to Andrew. Sorry man. You just didn’t bring it. I’m not sure how long America can keep voting for you but I really think you’re still safe this week.
Bottom three prediction for me would be Andrew, Katie and Tim. Of the three, I think Tim will be going home tomorrow night. We already got Lee and Aaron anyway.
