Cagayan de Oro Trip for Two Part 4: Going to Dahilayan
One of the newest attraction you have to try in Cagayan de Oro is the zipline at ZipZone, located in Dahilayan, Bukidnon. An hour and a half away from the city, the Dahilayan Adventure Park has the longest dual-zipline in Asia with a length of 840 meters which is around a minute-long ride.
The place only opened to public late last year and it’s been getting huge amounts of visitors that you have to be there early if you don’t want to wait the whole day just to ride their ziplines. They don’t accept reservations as well.
Go on a weekday. We purposely went on a Friday morning because we were told that it gets really crowded during weekends.
Getting to Dahilayan
Actually getting there is quite easy if you are in a big group. They offer round-trip van transport services for P2500. But what can a couple who can’t find a group to join do?
Have an adventure by commuting! Yep, we went there the hard but cheaper way.
We left Pearlmont Inn at around 8 AM. and walked towards the highway past LimKetKai. We hailed a jeep going to Puerto. The trip took about 30 minutes and we got off the Shell Station near Puerto market.
From there, we rode a jeep going to Camp Phillips in Bukidnon where the Del Monte pineapple plantation is located. The trip took around 1 hour because the jeep stopped somewhere for 20 minutes while waiting for passengers.
We arrived at Camp Phillips at around 10AM and from there it’s either a multicab or a motorcycle (locally called “habal habal”). No sedan will traverse the rough road to Dahilayan.
Dahilayan Adventure Park should offer scheduled transport services to and from Camp Phillips for people who aren’t travelling in groups.
Riding the multicab costs around Php1500 while the habal habal costs Php100 one-way per head. Guess what we took?
We rode the habal habal haggling the price down to Php75. It was a bone-jarring 30-minute ride across the Del Monte farm and up the rough and dusty trail to Dahilayan. Not to mention that we were under the sun the whole time.
I wouldn’t really recommend riding the habal habal because you won’t be wearing a helmet throughout the trip. It was quite an adventure though.
If you’re going to ride the habal habal, wear long sleeves and a pair of shades. Also use sunblock.
Major tip here. If you can round up 10 people for your trip, get the rafting and zipline package for only Php2000 per person. Transportation and meals are already included in the package. Inquire at 0922-8801319 or e-mail fran2ple@yahoo.com.

I wish I wasn’t such a wuss. The zip-trek sounds fun, but about as adventurous as I get is buying a new cereal at the grocery store. So daring!
Compared to all the road trips you’ve made, then the most adventurous I get would be scooping up a dead roach with a newspaper.

Thanks a bunch for the info! I finally found a way to get to Dahilayan. It’s so hard planning this rafting & zipzone trip considering it’s just me and my hubby going.
