The Beach Hut sun block that gave us a sunburn

It’s really hot right now and a lot of people are taking advantage of the heat to get tanned at the beach. I think we’ll be having an extended summer this year and if that’s the case then more beach outings for us. :)

Beach Hut

Anyway, this post is about the Beach Hut sunblock that I should warn you about. We used this SPF 36 Beach Hut sun block during our recent vacation in Cebu. After just 4 hours of bumming at the beach, my wife and I got sun burnt even after applying Beach Hut liberally on our body.

Our sun block is supposed sweat and waterproof and is not yet expired (2011) but it really didn’t protect us from the sun. We used VMV Armada Sport for our face which didn’t give us any problem so I doubt if the burn was caused by prolonged exposure under the sun.

After two weeks the skin on my back is still peeling. Hehehe. Anybody had similar experience with Beach Hut? We’re going to stick with our trusty Coppertone for our Coron trip.

I agree with the author. Beach Hut sunblock DOES NOT WORK. My husband and I used SPF 65 for our face and SPF 75 for our body, applied liberally every 30 minutes, swam for 2 hours and GOT BURNT. I am not buying their products again. Too many horror stories plus personal experience. I will stick with too sweet-smelling Hawaiian tropics — what the heck, at least it gets the job done. My husband and I are now nursing the stupid sunburn, NO THANKS to BEACH HUT. Crap. Btw, if you check the packaging, it doesn’t tell you what country it’s made. Just that it’s made for Naturale Lab, and DESIG?NED, not manufactured, in California, USA. What a cheap ploy to deceive the buying public! I’m disgusted.
