Ditching Destiny, switching back to Sky Cable
That’s it. I did it. Called up Destiny Cable and had my subscription cancelled. We still have no cable for weeks (missed the NBA finals because of it) now despite calling them twice about it already. I don’t care because it’s goodbye Destiny for me.
Funny thing is that the person I talked to just don’t give a damn. Hahaha. He didn’t bother asking me why I’m terminating their services. He just said “Ok” and that my subscription will end on the 30th.
Now we’re going back to Sky Cable.
The reason why I left Sky a couple of years ago is because their rates were high when they went digital. Now, they got the Plan 280 which gives me the basic channels plus Basketball TV, Star World and my wife’s favorite Cinema One… err AXN (Amazing Race Asia hurry up). The only thing not included is HBO and Star Movies which is not popular these days in the world of torrents.
I think a lot of people can live with Plan 280 so if you only have one TV, Sky Cable’s the more practical choice.
The price for subscribing is:
- P2000 for the installation fee (because of the digibox which I think is refundable when you surrender the box)
- + P356 for each additional TV
- P280 monthly (for the Plan 280)
- + P250 monthly for each additional TV
Since we already have a Digibox during the prepaid Amazing Race Asia days, I don’t have to pay for installation fees. Good thing that our second TV is broken so we don’t have to worry about paying for extension. Hahaha.
So it’s P280 monthly for me compared to Destiny’s P500 monthly and hard-to-reach customer support.
Tia… Tagalog movies galore when you get back.

Hahaha. I think they were taught to not ask questions why people would cancel the subscriptions cause they might just get more frustrations from the customers saying “Eh you guys suck! Walang kwenta! Blah blah blah!”
So OK na lang daw.. sige na wag na magtanong. Hahaha.
yeah. maybe they already know the reasons why people are moving away from Destiny so they don’t better getting feedback anymore. Hehehe.

You may want to add ANC which will be an additional P20 on top of P280 on your cable bill.

correct,,, anc adds only P20 monthly,,,, same discovery science, turbo, tlc, home and health, boomerang, kidsco, nat geo adventure, fox crime, fox channel, fox news channel, cnnhn, and fx… discovery, history, bio, ci add P50….
Aw, hmmm, you may need to follow-up on it, may times na fail talaga ang Sky.

Sa tingin ko, hindi naman big deal na hindi na nagpa-elaborate ang nakausap mo nung pina-terminate mo ang Destiny Cable nyo — ethical lamang po iyon. Alangan namang pigil-pigilan ka pa nila, hindi ba? Tamang business ethics lang ang ginawa nila. Mas nakakasawang manuod ng mga Koreanobela at mga walang kapararakang palabas sa ibang channels. Torrents? Karamihan po diyan ay ilegal na ina-upload at dina-download, hindi ba? You support piracy?
for a company, it’s always customary (but not forced) to ask people why people terminate their service. ito ay para mapaganda nila ang serbisyo para sa ibang tao. at dun sa pagdownload ng torrent, wag mong sabihing hindi ka nakakadownload ng movies or tv shows online or nanghihiram or bumibili ng pirated cd. anyway, congrats to you if you’re not one of them.
for me,,, im still stick stock to sky cable,,, why???? because discovery science (add P20) and discovery home and health (add P20) (discovery turbo and tlc also on destiny) aired on sky as of now and ofcouse dzmm teleradyo and anc (add P20) on plan 280 and cinemaone is better than pbo because latest movies shown…..
btv is already included in plan 280 and solar sports add P50 for 280 plan only, absence of hbo and star movies but it’s okay for me,,,, i’ve enjoyed watching clear digital……
..i was having a problem.. with this..because my wants to change our sky cable into destiny channel .. pnsin ko lng kc ung destiny channel prang old school already.. and there’s no ANIME CHANNELS AT ALL!! grr.. at wla ding myx . mtv lng nkta ko sa music channel list.. nla… ndi ko tuloy alm kung ppyag ako n ppltan ung sky cable into destiny.. sgro ung ups.. lng ng destiny are the movie channels.. sa sky kc.. magdadagdag kpa ng byad… for HBO and STAR movies.. at may 1 tv din p kc kmi sa room ng prents ko.. kya gsto din nla ng destiny.,,,ACtually … i am also using torrents.. pro waste din kc ng time.. kc dodownload mo pa.. tpos most of torrent data eh dba it supports piracy ska me virus pa ,,, waste din n time.. haha..
i am just hoping na ndi kmi mag sisi SA pagpapalit nmin ng cable.. ^^ .. cheerss…
