Facebook is the best way to promote your blog

If you’re serious about promoting your blog, Having a Facebook page is the way to go. With a Facebook page, your readers don’t have to visit your site daily. They can just stay in Facebook and wait for site updates, visit or share them as well.

According to Global Stats, Facebook still reigns supreme when driving traffic to a site. Twitter comes at a distant third.

A lot of people spend a lot of time in Facebook more than any site online. It’s usually left open on a separate tab or window and visited from time to time. Posting a link there will most likely generate a hit as compared to posting it in Twitter.

For my blog, I noticed that there are more Facebook referrals ever since I installed the SexyBookmark plugin making it easy for my readers to share my posts to different social networking sites.

So I created a Calvin’s Hub Facebook Page a few weeks ago but only a handful of people are fans (like 10). Hahaha. I didn’t promote my Facebook page to my Facebook friends because … well maybe soon.

So if you want to stay updated with my posts but don’t use an RSS Reader or Twitter or can’t visit my site daily, like me up on Facebook mmm’kay?

Although this is true, I’m still having a hard time increasing readership. And I agree with dBlah… what else can we do to increase traffic?

mas marami ka pang fb fans kesa sa akin. if you write an interesting post and publish it sa facebook fan page mo. magcliclick yan silang lahat. oh catchy titles help a lot too. just keep on writing. ganyan talaga pagbago pa lang. if marami na yung photoshop tutorials mo, compile them in one page just like what i did sa ipod touch guides ko. oh i also became a fan sa facebook page mo already.

Thanks sa suggestion! Yup, I guess kelangan lang talaga ituloy ang pagsusulat. Hopefully within a year I get a strong readership. :)

A good chunk of those FB ‘fans’ are just friends of mine who don’t really read my blog anyways! Wahahaha.

It certainly does! I’ve been using Facebook to drive traffic to the site I’m handling (http://wowlegazpi.com) . I created Legazpi City fan page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Legazpi-City/165069192339) and used Networked Blogs to publish new posts on the page whenever I update Wow Legazpi. :)

BTW, ‘liked’ your Facebook Fan Page! :)

hey dex. long time no see. bago na pala site mo. Liked the facebook page as well! Have to remind myself to install Networked Blogs on my Facebook.

        Thanks for liking!

Yup, I’m focusing on the travel/tourism blog for Legazpi for now. My old blog has been deactivated hehe. I’m planning to revive it soon. Thanks!
