iOS 4 is a free update for iPod Touch users
As much as I want to write about the iPhone 4, you probably have an overload of it already from watching it in the news or reading it from other blogs and websites. Instead, there’s another thing that I’m happy to write about, iOS 4!

iOS 4 is the upcoming iPhone firmware update and Apple just announced that they will be offering it as a free upgrade to iPod Touch users! Maybe they found out that it’s not that hard to upgrade your iPod for free.
It’s going to be available on June 21 so sit tight.
So as an iPod Touch user, what should you be expecting from iOS 4? To name a few: multitasking, folders and creating playlists on the go but you can also ready my entry about it here.
Oh yeah! 1st gen iPod Touch users can’t update to iOS 4 because the processor can’t handle it. Nice incentive to force yourself to get the next gen iPod Touch.
And for my iPhone 4 post:
I like it especially their so-called Retina Display. For those waiting to get an iPad, skip it and get an iPhone 4 instead. If only phones don’t hate me I’d save up for one. Or I could wait for the next iPod Touch which will probably be based on iPhone 4′s hardware.

pa update pagbalik ko…
hindi gagana sa akin? pano ko malaman kung 2nd gen ako?
1st gen ka. walang volume controls sa gilid. bigay mo na kay mama yan pag may lumabas na bagong ipod touch. hehehe.
you can see it at the back of your ipod phone and ung 1st gen may speaker un at ung 2nd gen wala… got it…n and yung volume nasa gilid sa 1st gen sa 2nd gen wala…oks oks oks!!!
i really hope that this is compatible with my 2nd gen touch
“Compatibility
iOS 4 works with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 3G. Not all features are compatible with all devices. For example, multitasking is available only with iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.”
im so maaaad to create a playlist
oh im sure it’s going to be compatible. it’s coming really soon.
i jailbroke my ipod touch spirit, if i upgrade to OS4 di mawala yung jailbreak ko?
mawawala dude. walang pang jailbreak for the official ios4.
i’ve read na ang ios 4 is only applicable for ipod touch 32gb and 64gb? kasi ndi kaya ng processor ng ipod touch na 8gb(3rd gen)? is this true.. tyaka gumagana ba yung multitasking niya sa ipod touch na 8gb (3rd gen)
the multitasking feature ng ios4 ang sinasabi mo. the firmware upgrade itself can be used sa ipod touch 2G (8gb, 16 and 32GB).
or maybe 1st gen ipod touch din sinasabi mo which can’t handle the hardware requirements of the iOS4.
about 8GB na 3rd gen, gagana yung iOS4 but not the multitasking feature because same processor speed yung 8gb 3rd gen with the 2nd gen ipod touch.
iOS 4 will work on 2nd & 3rd gen ipod touch but not all features are supported. the multitasking and wallpaper will not work on ipod touch 2nd gen and ipod touch 8gb 3rd gen. but the other features will work like the folders, playlist and gallery viewing. also, your icons at the home pages will look like the icons in iPhone4 and iPad, which looks good and very nice.
Mawawala ba mga files and songs ko if I update to iOS4?
Nope. Basta they’re already in itunes you can sync them back in.
hello again I just updated the itunes to 9.2.1. how do I update my jailbroken 3.1.3 touch to ios 4.0, do I just click the update icon in itunes or do I have to restore or something? I understand that my jailbreak will be gone hoping to try the jailbreakme after update
yup. itunes will prompt you to update your ipod to 4.0.1. just do that. it might take a long time because the update size is around 200++MB.
