Cooking with Chef Sau and the Samsung microwave oven
One of the things that my wife often tells me is that I should learn how to cook even just a couple of dishes. I would say that I’m really an eater and not a cook. The only food that I can prepare are cup noodles, oatmeal and cereals. Hahaha.
Anyhow, I attended this Samsung Home Appliance launch earlier today and they had the Simon Cowell of QTV’s Kitchen Battle, Chef Sau Del Rosario, as guest.

Host Sam Oh and guest Chef Sau del Rosario at the Samsung Home Solutions launch
There was this part of the program where Chef Sau demoed on how to prepare a quick meal using Samsung’s microwave. And there were tables set up so volunteers from the audience can follow along.
See where this is going?
No I didn’t volunteer myself. I was sitting near the tables and was asked to stand up and don an apron. Hahaha. And so I did.

There's Elijah of Techie.com.ph (right) who also won a Samsung washing machine
Oh well, at least I could tell my wife that I tried to look like I was cooking. Basically, all the ingredients are prepared. The sole fillet was already prepared and stored in the fridge and the mashed potatoes and lemon butter with capers were ready for plating.

Carry on... I'm just here taking photos
Only thing I did was put the sole fillet in the microwave for 2 minutes. Here’s the funny thing, I thought that the glass bowl would be hot after heating but it wasn’t. I didn’t need a mitten to take it out of the microwave and I don’t know if it’s because of the bowl or the microwave. Would you know?

Chef Sau: Wow this looks fantabulous!! (or something to that effect... I think)
Afterwards, we also heated the sauce and started plating. First was a bed of mashed potatoes, then the fish and finally we drizzled the lemon butter sauce with capers and added some spinach on top. I didn’t actually do anything at this point except took some photos. Hahaha.

Anyway, the star of this cooking demo is the Samsung Microwave Oven (AMW83-SB) that comes with a Triple Distribution system to make sure heat is distributed evenly from three microwave distribution points. It also features a Rapid Defrost function and it also comes with a cookbook with dishes that you can create with the microwave oven.
By the way, the dish was delicious. If a microwave oven can do that then I’d better learn how to prepare microwave dishes.

parang i don’t wanna use the microwave. it’s intimidating and i don’t think i wanna use something that pretty.
hahaha. sayang naman yung microwave kung pangdisplay lang
wow, swerte elijah!
i think it’s because of the bowl… hehe
yeah think so? parang simpleng pyrex bowl lang naman. maybe it doesn’t retain heat compared to other microwaveable materials.
Ooooooh gusto ko rin malaman kung dahil ba sa bowl or microwave yun. That’s very interesting. I hope it’s the bowl, though.Mas mura kasi yun na bilhin eh. Hahahaha.
At natawa ako dun sa fantabulous! Wahahaha!
