Johnny Rockets reminds me of Archie comics
Last Sunday, Yuga, Spidey and I went to check out the first zipline in the city. But before we went there, we stopped by Eastwood to grab some lunch and we did it at Johnny Rockets.

Johnny Rockets is a hamburger joint that originated from the US. The one in Eastwood is the first in the country and they will be opening one soon somewhere in QC (TriNoma I think).
The Place
This place has a classic US restaurant atmosphere and it reminds me of Pop Tate’s Chock’Lit Shop in Archie comics that I used to read as a kid. With the checkered tiles, classic barstools and the big, working jukebox at the center of the restaurant.

They also have small balloons and miniature jukeboxes scattered around. These small things work. We kept on putting 1-peso coins to listen to a very good selection of 80’s music. Nice!

I really like the atmosphere in this place. It’s very light and relaxed despite being crowded at that time.
The Food
They typically serve hamburgers at a premium price but each order will give you ALL the fries that you can eat! These are Belgian fries and you can ask for different kinds of dips as well.

The basic burger is big and costs Php285. I ordered a Bacon Cheddar Single for Php395 and to further experience the classic US restaurant, I also ordered a glass of rootbeer float (Php175). Mmmm mmmm.

The burger was really good and they will ask you how you want your patty cooked. The bun was soft and tasty and the bacon was cooked just right. The fries were already heavy and I wasn’t able to have a second serving.
The Staff
The staff are dressed in your typical classic white uniform and each wore a pair of fake, colorful eyeglass.

Our server, Joey, was very patient with us in answering all our questions about their food and the place despite having a lot of patrons dining. He was very attentive to our needs and requests.

To keep guests entertained, some of the staff showed some dance moves to popular selections from their jukebox. Choose “In The Navy” and watch them bust some moves. They typically dance every half an hour but don’t worry, they won’t leave customers unattended.
Thanks Johnny Rockets (and Abe) for a wonderful dining experience. Burp. And also for the heavy meal. That big burger, unlimited fries with rootbeer float already met my required daily calorie intake. Hehehe.
