5 reasons why you should replace your old iPod Touch
That’s it. I bit the bullet. Using my blog earnings once again, I bought the new iPod Touch (4th Gen) online. I will be replacing my old iPod Touch (2nd Gen) with the new one once it arrives.

If you’re a hardcore iPod Touch fan and still contemplating whether to get the new iPod Touch or not, here are some few reasons why you should.
1. Better display
Do you know how good the display on the iPod Touch 4th gen is? The old iPod Touch (2G and 3G) has a 320×480 screen resolution which makes it ok to watch videos, play games, etc. With iPod Touch 4G’s retina display, you’ll get a whopping 960×640-pixel resolution. Pictures, videos and games will appear sharper and more vibrant. Plus, you can play up to 720p HD videos because of it.
It doesn’t have the same IPS display of the iPhone 4 though. This means viewing angle is not as great compared to the iPhone 4.
2. Faster processor
With faster processor, you get snappier response, play more beautiful games and play higher res videos. The iPod Touch 2G has a 533MHz processor while the 3G has 800MHz. The 4th gen Touch has 1GHz! Just like the iPad and iPhone 4.
3. More memory
I’m not talking about storage space here but the RAM. This is the one that allowed the iPod Touch 3G to multi-task. 2G only has 128MB so no multi-task there. 3rd Gen has 256MB and if you think multitasking still isn’t that good with it, try the 4th Gen which has 512MB memory! RAM also helps the iPod run resource-intensive games and apps.
UPDATE: iFixit just disassembled an iPod Touch 4G and found out that it only has 256MB RAM like the iPad and unlike the iPhone 4. Maybe something that would improve on the 5th Gen touch?
4. Camera
Ok no point of comparison here. There are times that you want to take photos with the iPod Touch to upload to Facebook but you can’t. Good thing the new iPod touch has a camera that can even capture HD videos (720p). The front-facing camera is for Facetime but I won’t be surprised if Skype can also use it. And did you know that the new iPod Touch has a built-in micrphone already?
5. Longer battery life
Not much of an improvement here but the 4th Gen can do 40 hours of music as compared to the 3rd Gen’s 30 hours of music and an hour more with video playback.
Not yet convinced? At $299 for the 32GB version, you get all of these new features. That’s the same price of the 3rd Gen when it came out. Also the same price when I bought my 16GB 2nd gen!!
The 4th Gen has significantly improved from its previous version and I won’t be surprised if old users make the jump to the new one. And I’m one of them and I can’t wait to get my new iPod Touch!

don’t forget to mention the camera is like 0.7 megapixal. What a joke for a 200$ + product.
