How long does the Apple Store delivery take?
If you’re planning to order a product from the Apple Store and have a strict deadline to meet, be wary of their delivery time. Even if it says it will ship in 24 hours, the actual arrival time varies from a couple of days to a week or more.
Here’s what happened.
I wanted to get Tia an iPod nano to replace her lost one. We were already at the Fort on a Sunday so we checked out iStudio. Unfortunately, the color that she wants was not available and we only go out on weekends so we decided to order online instead thinking that delivery would only take a couple of days or so. A friend’s iPod Touch was delivered in 4 days and that’s because it fell on a weekend.
So we ordered an iPod nano on a Sunday night (Jan. 2) thinking it will arrive within the week. And this was our mistake. We didn’t notice the arrival date when we checked out the product. It said that it will be delivered in Jan. 11! That’s 9 days!! If we have seen that before we bought the product online we could’ve went to other Apple stores the following weekend instead.
Here’s another thing, they gave us a DHL tracking number but ours didn’t get updated once it reached Hong Kong from Singapore (the hub for orders in APAC). The last update was on January 5. January 11 came and it still did not arrive with no update whatsoever. It arrived on January 12, a day late. Really killed the excitement.
Thanks Apple! My supposed-to-be late Christmas gift to my wife turned into an early birthday gift. Hahaha. If it’s any consolation, we picked the red nano which is only available online.
Sorry about the rant. I’m just saying that better check the arrival date when you order from the Apple Store. Shipping in 24 hours only mean that it will leave the warehouse within 24 hours. You can check the arrival date when you check out your product before you actually pay for it.
