Our Misibis Bay Escapade Part 1 – The Plan

Our first trip of the year was a very luxurious one courtesy of Publicity Asia and Misibis Bay Resort in Albay, Bicol.

Misibis Bay Resort is one of those luxury beach resorts where you don’t have to worry about anything. You don’t have to worry about how to get there once you landed in the airport, nor you need to worry about food. All the necessities are inclusive in your stay.

I have only been to one such resort in my life and that was in Club Noah, Palawan which is already under different management. The activities, the buffet, the use of amenities, everything’s taken care of. You just eat, sleep and worry about how to spend the day with the activities available.

Here is the plan of our escapade… well actually we didn’t do any planning. The resort did a suggested itinerary for us and we just went along with it if we felt like doing it. Anyway, here’s what happened in our Misibis Bay Escapade which was a 3-day 2- night shindig. We were with a blogger friend, Ryan of TheBlackFedoraBlog and a couple of lovely gals from TravelBook.Ph.

Day 1

  • 7:30 – Arrival at the airport
  • 7:45 – Breakfast at Hotel Venezia
  • 9:00 – Legazpi City Tour (Lignon Hill, Cagsawa Ruins, Albay Pili Factory)
  • 11:45 – Arrive at Misibis Bay
  • 12:00 – Buffet Lunch at Spice Market Restaurant
  • 15:00 – Intro dive and other water activities (jetski, wakeboard, windsurfing, kayak, hobiecat sailing, etc.)
  • 19:00 – Buffet Dinner

Day 2

  • 7:00 – Buffet Breakfast
  • 8:00 – ATV Ride
  • 10:00 – Zipline
  • 12:00 – Outdoor lunch at the Marina
  • 15:00 – Water activities again
  • 16:00 – Sunset cruise
  • 19:00 – Buffet Dinner

Misibis Bay Resort is located in Cagraray Island which is accessible by land (1 hour), water using a fast craft (30 minutes) or by air via a chopper, all from Legazpi City. If you’re a fan of Amazing Race Asia like me, you would know that it was the 5th pit stop of the race.

Oops. Water activity doesn’t include the use of jetski which has a separate rate. Non-motorized water activities and the one-session intro dive are free though. The ATV is good for one ride only and the zipline is for the 200m one. Don’t worry, there are people who will teach you everything you need to learn for each activity. I’ll talk more about the activities that you can do on the island in a later post.

As for rates, it’s better to contact Misibis Bay because they tend to have promos from time to time. For January, they had the P18,888 for a 3d/2n stay per head. There are also special rates for locals, expats and OFWs.

The most important thing we got from this escapade was that we really felt relaxed and stress-free during our stay and got rejuvenated afterwards. No kidding!

The Legazpi City Tour is up next.
