How much does a movie ticket cost nowadays? Went out to see The Bourne Legacy more than week ago and I was surprised that the ticket costs P250 and that’s not of those high-end cinemas.
I don’t know when the last time I paid for a movie ticket was but the price was only about Php100 I think. Checked the malls lately and in SM malls which I think has “pang-masa” prices have their regular movie tickets pegged at Php200 apiece. Ouch! If you’re a family of four that’s already Php800 and you still have to include snacks, parking, and dinner. Pricey. One of the reasons why people prefer to download movies rather than watch it on the big screen.
If you have a BDO credit card, BDO is giving away P100 SM cinema vouchers for every single transaction of at least Php3,000 for an online purchase using your card. That Php3,000 might be a lot but you can combine multiple transactions as long as it’s from one merchant. So if you reach the Php3,000 when buying clothes from let’s say Lazada… or Amazon, you’ll get at most 50% off on your next movie ticket. Imagine the savings if you have a discount voucher for each member of the family.
When you’re done with your online shopping, fill out a web form or use your mobile to claim a promo code which you can scan on one of those SM Cinema’s bCode kiosk to convert it to a voucher. The voucher has a validity of one year and can be presented to the SM Cinema ticket counter to get your discount.
Online transaction should take place between July 1 and August 31, 2012 while claiming of voucher is until October 31, 2012 only. For more info, do visit the BDO Online Treats promo mechanics.
If you want to know more promos for BDO credit cardholders, there’s also the Online Installment and Online Exclusives promo.
