Last two Fil-Am hopefuls bow out from American Idol 2013
It seems that one Filipino-American is enough for this year’s American Idol as two more who made it to the Top 40, both equally good actually, didn’t make it as finalist this season.
We saw Adriana Latonio who was among the first batch of finalists. Unfortunately for Jett Hermano and Bryant Tadeo, they didn’t make the cut.
Jett is a 25-year old Fil-Am legal assistant from Seattle, Washington. Here’s her Sudden Death performance where she did her own rendition of Rihanna’s “Only Girl In The World” while on the piano.
I think it’s pretty cool actually, something you could see performed in later rounds. Both Keith and Mariah loved it but Nicki and Randy said it was lacking something, a bit anti-climactic which is a bit unfair really since she can only perform for a short period of time.
Jett didn’t make it in her group in favor of more powerful vocalists which I think this season has loads of already. It’s quite unfortunate because the list of finalists could use some variety that Jett can offer.
Bryant is a 21-year old happy-go-lucky guy from Hawaii and seems to be one of the confident guys in the competition. Here’s his Sudden Death performance singing “A New York State of Mind” by Billy Joel.
This guys really has a good voice, clearly better than some guys who made it through. The performance is not that “wow” but it wasn’t bad either. I don’t understand why Nicki (Bryant’s expression was priceless here) and Randy gave such negative comments without explaining. Although I find him rude interrupting the judges while they were talking.
Well that’s it. They’re out. I do hope that by some twist of fate they get a call back at some point in the show. For now, I’m gonna root for Adriana.
